Part-time Vacation Entitlement. Part-time and casual employees shall be entitled to weeks of vacation time off, if so desired, as set out in Article 18.01 above. All regular part-time employees shall be entitled to vacation pay based upon the applicable percentage provided in accordance with the vacation entitlement of full-time employees, paid based on their gross earnings in the preceding year. If an employee works or receives paid leave for less than 1100 hours in the vacation year she/he will receive vacation pay based on a percentage of her/his gross salary for work performed in the vacation year on the following basis: 2 week entitlement - 4% 3 week entitlement - 6% 4 week entitlement - 8% Equivalent years of service, calculated pursuant to the formula set out in Article 12.03, shall be used to determine vacation entitlement and will be calculated on the basis that 1500 hours of part-time service shall equal one (1) year of full-time service and vice-versa. Casual part-time employees will be paid vacation pay in accordance with the above entitlement on gross earnings or on gross salary for work performed, as applicable. Equivalent years of service will be based on the casual part-time employee's seniority established under Article 12.03 and will be calculated on the basis that 1500 hours of part-time service shall equal one (1) year of full-time service and vice-versa.

Part-time Vacation Entitlement. All part-time employees shall receive vacation pay on each cheque based on length of continuous service as follows, commencing from their first day of service: • Up to and including 1,499 hours of service, 4% of wages • From 1,500 to 7,499 hours of service, inclusive: o For allied health professionals, 10% of wages o For clerical staff, 6% of wages • From 7,500 to 14,999 hours of service, inclusive: o For allied health professionals, 12% of wages o For clerical staff, 8% of wages • From 15,000 hours: o For allied health professionals, 14% of wages o For clerical staff, 10% of wages Allied health professionals include Nurse Practitioners, Registered Dietician, Registered Social Workers, Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurse. All other employees are clerical staff, for the purposes of this article.

NOTE: the adjustment in Article 18.05 occurs on 1 June, 1993.

Part-time Vacation Entitlement. Part-time employees shall be entitled to time off and vacation pay in the amount of four percent (4%) of their wages, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act. After having completed hours of work, part-time employees shall be entitled to time off and vacation in the amount of six percent (6%) of their wages. Applicable to full-time only In the event that an employee requires hospitalization while on vacation, he shall be deemed to be on sick leave to the extent that he is so hospitalized during his vacation period and has sick leave entitlement to his credit, provided proof of the hospitalization is submittedin such circumstancesand the Employer is notified of the hospitalizationas soon as possible, Vacation days so displaced will be rescheduled at the discretion of the Employer. An employee who leaves the employ of the Employer for any reason shall receive a vacation pay based on his earned vacation entitlement less any vacation pay already received. The Employer shall the date of an employee’s vacation on the basis of seniority, taking into account the Employer’s necessity to maintain sufficient and qualified staff to ensure the efficient operation of the service.
