Part-Time Members. Part-time members shall have the right to join or refuse to join the State Employees Retirement System or the Alternate Retirement Plan for Higher Education. Part-time members who are currently enrolled in the Teachers Retirement System (TRS) may apply university service to TRS. Failure to elect participation in the above retirement systems (SERS or TRS) shall be deemed full waiver of rights to participate for the semester of employment (This provision is ineffective until legislative approval of the necessary supersedence.).

Part-Time Members. 1. Part-time Members who work full days for part of the scheduled work week shall earn sick leave in the same proportion as their part-time employment status. For example, a teacher who works two (2) full days of a five day week shall earn 40% of the annual sick leave allotment. One year of longevity shall be earned for each year worked; however, longevity compensation will be pro-rated.
Part-Time Members. For part-time members, the percentage of time employed is determined by comparing the number of periods the member is scheduled to work each day to the number of periods normally worked each day in the building (i.e., 7 periods at the Jr./Sr. high level). If work is done in different buildings, the percentage will be a sum of the proportionate amount in each building
Part-Time Members. Health Care Spending Account – The University will establish a Health Care Spending Account (HCSA) for members with 3 or more courses per term. For purposes of administering the HCSA, the 3 terms shall be Fall, Winter and Spring/Summer. The maximum amount per eligible member for each calendar year shall be $500. Deposits to eligible employee’s HCSA in each term will be made based on the proportion of actual workload in each term compared to full workload (3 courses) multiplied by $500. If a member does not have 3 or more courses in any term no deposit shall be made in that term.
