Paid Vacation and Sick Leave. During the Term, Superintendent shall accrue and be entitled to use paid vacation and sick leave on the same term as Executive Cabinet/Leadership Team Members of WCSD, as those terms are in effect from time to time. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the full twenty (20) days of paid vacation and the full fifteen (15) days of sick leave are not earned until Superintendent has completed an entire fiscal year. If Superintendent leaves the system before all of Superintendent’s paid vacation or sick leave is earned, accruals will be prorated to reflect that number of paid vacation and sick leave days earned, respectively. If the Superintendent uses any paid vacation and/or sick leave prior to accrual, Superintendent agrees to a payroll deduction in the amount of the unearned vacation or sick leave used and to execute any authorization needed to effectuate the deduction. On July 1 of each year, Superintendent may elect to be paid in cash equivalent for up to a maximum of seven (7) days of unused paid vacation that accrued during the twelve (12) months preceding July at Superintendent’s then-current daily rate of pay. If Superintendent is absent from official duties, Superintendent shall notify the Board President or the Board President’s designee.
