Common use of Paid Training Clause in Contracts

Paid Training. Employees, when directed to attend compulsory training courses pertaining to operations after completing eight (8) hours of work in a day or forty (40) hours of work in a week, will receive overtime rates of pay. It is understood that payment of overtime rates in no way detracts from the compulsory requirement to attend. Employer required training during the normal work schedule shall be at straight time rates.

Paid Training. Employees, when directed to attend compulsory training courses pertaining to operations after completing eight seven and one-half (8) 7½) hours of work in a day or forty thirty-seven and one-half (4037½) hours of work in a week, will receive overtime rates of pay. It is understood that payment of overtime rates in no way detracts from the compulsory requirement to attend. Employer required training during the normal work schedule shall be at straight time rates.
