Paid Holidays – Long Weekends. (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday. (b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday. (c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision. 12.08 (a) Full-time nurses may bank to a maximum of three (3) holiday lieu days. Holiday lieu days may be taken as a block of three (3) days, which may be taken at a mutually agreeable time and the written request will not be unreasonably denied. The written request is to be submitted two (2) weeks prior to the posting of the schedule.
