Common use of Overtime Meal Allowance Clause in Contracts

Overtime Meal Allowance. (a) An employee, who is required to work a minimum of three (3) hours overtime following his/her scheduled hours of work, and where it is not practical for him/her to enjoy his/her usual meal time before commencing such work, shall be granted reasonable time with pay, as determined by the Employer, in order that he/she may take a meal break either at or adjacent to his/her place of work. Under such conditions, he/she shall be reimbursed his/her expenses for one (1) meal in the amount of: $10.00 except where free meals are provided.

Under such conditions, he/she the employee’s last regularly scheduled work period shall be reimbursed his/her expenses for one (1) meal in the amount of: of ten dollars and twenty-five cents ($10.00 10.25), except where free meals are provided. Reasonable time with pay, to be determined by the Employer, shall be allowed the employee in order to take a meal either at or adjacent to his or her place of work.
