Overtime and Extra Time. Right of Refusal: Any bargaining unit member shall have the right to reject any offer or request by their supervisor/District Administrator to work overtime, extra time, or call back except in cases of emergency which is defined as short-term, non-recurring incident(s) requiring the attention of the employee.

Overtime and Extra Time. The District will provide compensation or compensatory time off at a rate equal to one and one- half (1½) times the regular rate of pay for unit members designated by the District and authorized to perform such overtime. Overtime is any time required to be worked in excess of eight (8) hours in one workday or any time in excess of forty (40) hours in any calendar week. This provision does not apply to unit members whose regular workday is less than eight (8) hours or whose workweek is less than forty (40) hours. For the purpose of computing the number of hours worked, time during which the unit member is excused from work because of holidays, sick leave, vacation, compensated time off, or other paid leaves of absences, shall be considered as time worked by the unit member.
Overtime and Extra Time. (a) As far as possible, overtime and extra time will be equally distributed among those employees normally performingthe relevant work to be done. The Company agrees to maintain a permanent record of overtime worked by all employees in their classification in order that an equitable distribution may be maintained. A list of overtime worked by employees in re- spective departments will be given to the plant com- mittee on a monthly basis. Time and one half shall be paid for all hours worked over eight (8) hours in one day. Doubletime shall be paid for alltime worked over twelve (12) consecutive hours in one day. Time and one half shall be paid for all hours worked on Saturday.

  • Overtime Lieu Time Where an employee has worked an accumulated approved overtime hours (other than overtime hours related to paid holidays) such employee shall have the option of electing payment at the applicable overtime rate or time off equivalent to the applicable overtime rate (i.e. where the applicable rate I time and one-half, then time off shall be at one and one-half times. Where an employee chooses the latter option, such time off must be taken within the succeeding two pay periods of the occurrence of the overtime at a time mutually agreeable to the Hospital and the employee, or payment in accordance with the former option shall be made. An employee shall not be required to take time off to avoid payment of overtime.

  • Prep Time For full day 10-month (184 day) or 12-month (223 day) teachers, 45 minutes of uninterrupted daily prep time will be provided to each teacher to be used for professional activities (for example, classroom preparations, parent conferences, and peer consultations).

  • Comp Time In lieu of payment for overtime hours worked, the employee may request to take compensatory time off. Approval shall be at the discretion of the Department Head. If the request is approved by the Department Head, one and one-half (1 2) hours of compensatory time shall be credited for each overtime hour worked. A maximum accrual of compensatory time shall be forty (40) hours. Flex Time. The County recognizes and supports the concept of Flex time. Flex time is allowed within the work week as it is defined in Article 20, Section 2 of this contract. If an employee requests, an employee and their department head may agree to allow an employee to flex their schedule. However, in some departments and under some circumstances flex time may not be feasible and will not be permitted. No employee shall be required to take flex time off in order to avoid the payment of overtime or as a condition of continued employment.

  • Break Time For daily work assignments of six or more hours, permanent and probationary employees (except bus drivers and bus aides) shall be entitled to one 15-minute break for each half of the work assignment. For work assignments of less than six hours, such employees shall be entitled to one 15-minute break. Employees who spend a majority of the workday working with a Video Display Terminal (VDT) shall be permitted to perform other job-related duties (i.e., work not involving use of a VDT) 10 continuous minutes out of each hour. Such time shall not be cumulative and shall be in addition to break time established above.
