Other Union Leave. 13.11 At the request of an employee, the Employer shall grant an employee a leave of absence to work for the Union, unless it is necessary to replace an Employee and it is not practical to replace him or her for the period of the leave.
Other Union Leave. Permission for occasional additional Union Business leaves of absence without pay shall not be unreasonably withheld by the Company on seven (7) days written request of the Union, to Union shop stewards, unit officers, Executive Board members, and negotiating committee representatives for the negotiation and administration of this Agreement.
Other Union Leave. Subject to operational requirements, at the request of an employee, the Employer may grant an employee a leave of absence without pay to work for the Union. ARTICLE MEMBERSHIP FEES DEDUCTION Effective the first of the month following the signing of this Agreement, the Employer will, as a condition of employment, deduct an amount equal to the amount of Membership Fees from the pay of all Employees in the Bargaining Unit. The Union shall inform the Employer in writing of the amount of Membership Fees to be deducted from each Employee in the Bargaining Unit. For the purpose of applying Clause deductions from pay for each Employee will occur on a basis and will apply to the extent that earnings are available. Where an Employee does not have sufficient earnings in respect of any period to permit deduction, the Employer shall not be obligated to make such deductions from subsequent salary. From the date of signing and for the duration of this Agreement no Employee organization, other than the Union, shall be permitted to have membership fees deducted by the Employer from the pay of the Employees in the Bargaining Unit. The amounts deducted in accordance with Clause shall be remitted to the Comptroller of the Alliance by cheque within a reasonable period of time deductions are made and shall be accompanied by particulars identifying each Employee and the deductions made on his behalf. The Employer may make deductions for other purposes from an Employee’s pay upon the written request of the Employee. The Union agrees to indemnify and save the Employer harmless against any claim or liability arising out of the application of this Article except for any claim or liability arising out of an error committed by the Employer. The Employer agrees to annually on each Employee’s slip the total amount of Membership Fees deducted for the preceding year.
Other Union Leave. 29.15.3.1 The Employer shall grant a leave without pay for a secondment of one (1) year to an Employee appointed to a position with the Union (other than the Bargaining Unit). Such shall be renewable upon approval of the Executive Director, which will not be unreasonably denied.

  • Union Leave (a) Upon receiving a written request at least one (1) week in advance from the Union, the Company will grant leave of absence for not more than two (2) employees at any one time to attend Union conferences, conventions, or workshops, providing that the combined leaves of absence will not exceed forty (40) working days in any one (1) calendar year. Such leaves of absence will be without pay but with maintenance and accumulation of benefits (normal payroll deductions to apply).

  • Other Leave Granting of leave is a matter between the employees and the mill management. The Company will consider length of service and will endeavour to arrange leave of absence to suit the employee's wishes. Employees with ten or more years service will be given special consideration.

  • Association Leave A total of 10 days of leave with pay during the current school year shall be granted the Association for use by the Association. A maximum of four additional days may be used for Association leave and the substitute’s salary will be reimbursed to the Board by the Association. The President of the Association will notify the Superintendent as to the educators and dates involved at least five (5) days before such leave is desired.

  • Other Leaves The parties agree that employees covered by this Memorandum of Understanding are subject to other County authorized leave provisions including but not limited to: military leave, disaster leave, leave for civil service examinations and leave for school or child day care program activities. Specific leave information is available in the Appendix.

  • Professional Leave Professional leave without pay will be granted to full-time and regular part- time employees who are elected to or appointed to the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario to attend regularly scheduled meetings of the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario subject to the following limitations:
