OTHER APPROVED LEAVES. The City may, in its sole discretion, grant unpaid leave to a full-time employee for medical or personal reasons in a duration not to exceed thirty (30) days after the employee provides written request for leave, if for medical reasons a doctor’s certification is provided, and subsequent approval is provided in writing by the Fire Chief and City Administrator. Leave extensions may be granted in thirty (30) day increments by the Fire Chief and City Administrator at their discretion. The City's decision regarding a request for unpaid leave of absence and the duration of the same shall not be subject to review under the grievance procedure. Failure of the employee to return to work and substantially perform the duties of his position upon expiration of the leave shall be cause for dismissal. Nothing in this provision shall restrict or interfere with an employee’s rights under state and federal family medical leave laws.

OTHER APPROVED LEAVES. 10:01 Inclement Weather Schools remain open for service to students during inclement weather conditions, including such circumstances when bus service to schools is cancelled. Schools may be closed only under the sole authorization of the Director of Education.

  • Other Approvals All regulatory approvals required to consummate the transactions contemplated hereby shall have been obtained and shall remain in full force and effect and all statutory waiting periods in respect thereof shall have expired (all such approvals and the expiration of all such waiting periods being referred to herein as the "Requisite Regulatory Approvals").

Employees shall not be disciplined or otherwise discriminated against because of their exercise of these rights.

  • Industrial Accident Leave 5.8.1 Unit Members will be entitled to industrial accident leave according to the provision in Education Code Section 87787 for personal injury which has qualified for Worker's Compensation under the provisions of the State Compensation Insurance Fund.

  • Blood Donor Leave Employees may be granted reasonable paid time off for the purpose of donating blood when participating in a City-authorized and/or sponsored blood donation drive or special need. No employee shall be eligible for overtime as a result of donating blood. All such absences shall be scheduled with the employee’s supervisor.

  • Personnel Requirements a. The CONTRACTOR shall secure, at the CONTRACTOR'S own expense, all personnel required to perform this Contract.

  • Child Care Leave (a) An employee who is a natural or adoptive parent shall be granted upon request in writing child care leave without pay for a period of up to thirty-five (35) weeks. The leave may be shared by the parents or taken wholly by one (1) parent.

  • Approved Leave of Absence During Vacation Where it can be established by the employee through a doctor's certificate that an illness or accident occurred, or where an employee qualifies for bereavement or any other approved leave during his/her period of vacation, there shall be no deduction from vacation credits for such absence. The period of vacation so displaced shall either be added to the vacation or reinstated for use at a later date, at the employee's option, as mutually agreed.
