Orientation to Other Units. Nurses may request to be oriented to other units. Such orientation shall consist of a temporary assignment to the unit in which the nurse is being oriented. The length of such assignment is dependent upon the workloads and needs of the institution and shall be reasonably calculated to orient the nurse to the unit, after consultation with the nurse affected. Nurses will not be required to perform tasks and procedures or to operate equipment for which the nurse has not been trained.
