Common use of Option to Renew for One Year Clause in Contracts

Option to Renew for One Year. By mutual agreement of the County and Contractor, this Contract may be renewed for a single one-year period beginning immediately upon the expiration of the Contract’s initial one- year term. Such renewal shall be made in writing. The Health Agency Director is hereby delegated the authority to determine whether to renew this Contract without additional approval by the Board of Supervisors, so long as the renewal is in writing, approved by County Counsel, and consistent with the limits described in Section 30 of Exhibit D. Exhibit C 1 of 1 EXHIBIT D CONTRACT FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES GENERAL CONDITIONS 1. Independent Contractor. Contractor shall be deemed to be an independent contractor of County. Nothing in this contract shall be construed as creating an employer-employee relationship, partnership or a joint venture relationship. Nothing in this contract authorizes or permits the County to exercise discretion or control over the professional manner in which Contractor provides services. Contractor’s services shall be provided in a manner consistent with all applicable standards and regulations governing such services.
