Offences under the Bribery Act. The Bribery Act contains four main offences:  Paying bribes - Can apply to members of staff and the University  Receiving bribes - Can apply to members of staff and the University  Bribery of a foreign public official - Can apply to members of staff and the University  Failure of a commercial organisation to prevent bribery - Can apply to the University and its subsidiary companies. In addition, if a senior officer of a commercial organisation consents to or connives in an act of bribery by that organisation, they can be separately prosecuted.
