Offences under the Bribery Act. The Bribery Act contains four main offences: Paying bribes - Can apply to members of staff and the University Receiving bribes - Can apply to members of staff and the University Bribery of a foreign public official - Can apply to members of staff and the University Failure of a commercial organisation to prevent bribery - Can apply to the University and its subsidiary companies. In addition, if a senior officer of a commercial organisation consents to or connives in an act of bribery by that organisation, they can be separately prosecuted.
