Common use of Novation Clause in Contracts

Novation. Each party agrees to take all such steps as may be necessary to give effect to the novation of either party's rights and obligations under this Agreement by and in favour of the Secretary of State or his nominee, if and to the extent necessary to enable the Secretary of State to perform his duty to secure the provision of services for the carriage of passengers by railway pursuant to section 30 of the Act, provided that any such novation shall have been approved by the Office of Rail and Road pursuant to the Act and shall be on terms that:
