Normal Work Week Schedule and Work Days‌ The normal workweek schedule shall be 40 hours, Monday through Friday. The normal workday shall be eight hours. The parties agree that, given the nature of the bargaining unit and its FLSA-exempt status, flexible scheduling of the hours of work is desirable and shall be permitted at the reasonable discretion of the Department Head, providing there will be no adverse financial or performance cost to the City or other reasonable operating concern. If after a period, management determines that there is a business reason to discontinue an alternative work schedule, management will inform the affected employee of the proposed change to schedule, and allow an opportunity to discuss the reasons and possible alternative solutions to schedule change. If a decision to change the alternative schedule is finalized, management will provide reasonable written notice of the change, including the reasons for the change and an explanation about suggested alternative solutions.
