Non-Initial Probationary Periods. Non-initial probationary periods for staff moving to another position shall be required as set forth below. ▪ any movement from any direct care position to a non-professional direct care position ▪ any movement within the same department to any professional position (other than SSA or teacher) ▪ any movement into any non-direct care position Two hundred eighty (280) calendar days: ▪ any movement into a SSA position ▪ any movement into a Teacher Position ▪ any movement from a different department into a professional position ▪ any movement from a non-direct care position to a direct care position An employee with previous experience moving into another position other than to a Teacher or SSA may, at the request of the employee or the employee’s manager, have his probation period reduced as determined by the Superintendent or designee. An employee who is promoted, laterally moved, or voluntarily reduced while serving an initial probationary period shall have the initial probationary period stayed (put on hold) and shall start a new non-initial probationary period upon movement into the new position.
