No one but Clause Samples
The "No one but" clause serves to restrict certain rights, actions, or benefits exclusively to a specified party or group. In practice, this means that only the named individual or entity is permitted to perform a particular action, access a resource, or receive a benefit under the agreement, and all others are expressly excluded. For example, a contract might state that no one but the licensee may use the licensed software. This clause's core function is to prevent unauthorized use or participation, thereby protecting the interests of the designated party and ensuring clear boundaries regarding who is entitled to act under the contract.
No one but a Director member of the bargaining unit shall direct all, or a part of production, such as, but not limited to pre-recording, final casting, approval of location, sets, costumes, etc., as well as principal photography, first cut, post-recording.
