Newborn Children. We will cover an Employee's newborn child for 31 days from the date of birth without additional premium. Coverage may be continued beyond such 31-day period as stated below:

Newborn Children. A newborn child is covered for 31 days from the date of birth. To continue coverage beyond this initial period, the child must be enrolled in HMO within the initial 31 day period. If coverage does not require the payment of an additional Premium for a Covered Dependent, the Subscriber must still enroll the child within 31 days after the date of birth. If the notice is given and the premium paid after that 31-day period, the child will be a Late Enrollee When Dependent Coverage Ends: A Dependent's coverage under this Contract will end on the first of the following dates:

To be covered as a Dependent beyond the thirty-one (31) day period, the newborn child must be enrolled as a Dependent under this Agreement and appropriate premium payment must be received within such period. In the event that a newborn child is not eligible for continuing coverage as a Dependent under this Agreement, the eligible Dependent may enroll or apply for a separate Agreement to be issued by the Plan.

Newborn Children. To enroll a newborn child who is an Eligible Dependent, you must complete and submit any required Enrollment Forms. The Effective Date of coverage for a newborn child is usually the date of birth as long as you have enrolled the newborn child in time (as indicated below). We and the Marketplace must be notified, in writing, when you are adding a newborn and the rules for Effective Date and Premiums charged for the newborn may vary depending on when the notification is received. The Special Enrollment Period to add a newborn is only 60 days. If you do not add a newborn within the 60-day period you will need to wait until the next Annual Open Enrollment Period or for a Special Enrollment Period to add a newborn. You will not be responsible for an additional premium for newborn coverage for the duration of the notice period.

Newborn Children. A newborn Dependent Child of the Employee or their spouse is covered from birth. However, the child must be enrolled by the Employee and any required additional premiums must be paid to Contractor no more than thirty-one (31) days after the date of birth in order for coverage to continue beyond the first thirty-one (31) days.
