As you know, the merit increase system for all NFB employees is set out in Section 4.2.3 of the Human Resources Manual and repeated, in part, in article 41 of the collective agreement for the administrative and foreign service category and the scientific and professional category that you represent. National Office. If a pilot is elected to a National office of the Association, he shall be granted a leave of absence without pay to carry out the duties of that office. The leave shall not exceed the term(s) of office. The Company shall be notified at least thirty (30) calendar days prior to the commencement of and return date from such a leave. a. During a pilot's term of office, he may pick up open time in order to maintain currency as a pilot. It will be the pilot’s responsibility to maintain currency, and, if his currency lapses, the Company will not be obligated to undertake any training or retraining during the pilot’s leave. However, the Company will administer recurrent training and checkrides to a pilot who maintains his currency. b. A pilot returning from Association leave will not be paid by the Company until he is qualified on the aircraft that he is awarded. Retraining costs will be borne by the Company. The pilot may exercise his seniority rights system-wide to obtain a position. c. A pilot on Association leave will retain and continue to accrue seniority and longevity for the length of the leave; however, he will not accrue sick or vacation days.
National Office. Each National Office is a corporate body appointed to represent FICMI in its country. It operates under the laws of its respective country and its constitution, bylaws, policies and procedures developed by its national board. It will normally meet the following criteria though variations may be permitted on a case-by-case basis by application in writing to the International Executive Director who will respond in writing with a decision: 3.2.1 It will be incorporated as a non-profit organisation with a national board made up of at least 3 members (or as close to that as is permitted under local laws). 3.2.2 Its official name will be “Freedom In ▇▇▇▇▇▇ Ministries” in the local language or as close to that as local conditions allow. 3.2.3 It will have an executive director who will attend national board meetings but who will not be a voting member of the national board and whose primary role (that is, where they spend most of their time) will be working for the National Office. 3.2.4 All board members and the executive staff will be in fellowship with a local body of believers. 3.2.5 It will have a national ministry strategy in line with FICMI’s policies and strategy including sustainable financial plans. 3.2.6 It will have a physical location and a system of resource distribution.
