NAMED HOLIDAYS. (a) The following are considered paid holidays: New Year's Day Labour Day Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day August Civic Day Truth and Reconciliation Day and all general holidays proclaimed by the municipality or the Government of Alberta or Canada. (b) In addition to the foregoing named holidays, Employees who are employed as of October 1st of each contract year, shall be granted an additional "floater" holiday in that contract year. The "floater" holiday shall be taken at a time to be mutually agreed upon by the Employer and the Employee. 27.02 To qualify for a named holiday with pay the Employee must (a) work their scheduled shift immediately prior to and immediately following the holiday except where the Employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer; (b) work on the paid holiday when scheduled or required to do so. 27.03 An Employee obliged in the course of duty to work on a named holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the named holiday at one and one-half times (11/2 X) their Basic Rate of Pay plus: (a) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or (b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or (c) one (1) regular day's pay. 27.04 Should a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation periodby mutual agreement, that day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday Employee may receive payment for such day at the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay.
27.05 When a named holiday falls on a Full-Time Employee's regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day off with pay added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay in lieu of the named holiday.
27.06 No payment shall be made for any named holiday occurring during a layoff or unpaid leave of absence.

28.01 Vacation Entitlement(c) Pay for the day referred in Article 17.03(a)(i)(ii)(iii) shall be for 7.5 hours.
(d) The Employer shall not schedule the alternate day until such time as the Employee and Employer have endeavoured to agree on the date of the alternate day off. Failing mutual agreement within 30 calendar days following the Named Holiday of the option to be applied, the Employee shall have a day off with pay scheduled adjacent to a scheduled day of rest.
(e) In addition to an alternate day off, an Employee who is obliged to work overtime on a Named Holiday shall be paid as follows:
(i) For all overtime hours worked on a Named Holiday 2.5X their Basic Rate of Pay.
(ii) For all overtime hours worked on Christmas Day 3X their Basic Rate of Pay.
17.04 When a Named Holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be an Employee’s regularly scheduled day of rest, the Employee shall receive an alternate day off as outlined in Article 17.03(b) above.
17.05 When a Named Holiday falls during an Employee’s annual vacation, such holiday may, by mutual agreement, be added to the vacation period, or the alternate day off shall be dealt with as set out in Article 17.03.

NAMED HOLIDAYS. 19.01 Full time Employees shall be eligible to receive a day off with pay on or for the following Named Holidays:

19.02 In addition to the foregoing named holidaysNamed Holidays, Full-time Employees who are employed in employment with the Employer as of October 1st of each contract yearApril 1st, shall be granted an additional "floater" holiday as a “Floater” holiday, until an additional Named Holiday is proclaimed by any of the authorities named in that contract yearClause 19.01(a), (b) or (c) above at which time the Floater holiday will be replaced by the new Named Holiday and will be subject to the provisions of this Article. The "floater" holiday shall Floater Holiday will be taken at a time to be mutually agreed upon scheduled by mutual agreement between the Employer and Employee. If the Employeeholiday is not taken by the last day of December in any given year, it shall be paid out.
27.02 19.03 To qualify for a named holiday Named Holiday with pay pay, the Employee mustFull-time Employee:
(a) must work their scheduled shift immediately prior to and immediately following the holiday holiday, except where the Employee is absent due to illness illness, or other reasons acceptable to the Employer;; and
(b) must work on the paid holiday when scheduled or required to do so.
27.03 (a) No payment shall be due for a Named Holiday which occurs during:
(i) a lay-off; or
(ii) all forms of leave during which an Employee is not paid.
(b) No additional payment shall be due for a Named Holiday that occurs during a period when an Employee is receiving Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability or Workers’ Compensation benefits.
19.05 An Employee obliged in the course of duty to work on a named holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the named holiday at one and one-half times (11/2 X) their Basic Rate of Pay plus:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay.
(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receive, in addition to the above, compensating time off at their Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.
(e) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the Named Holiday at two one and one- half times (2X11/2X) the Basic Rate their basic rate of Pay. Pluspay plus:
(ia) one (1) days pay; or
(b) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed time; or
(c) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's their next annual vacation; or
(iid) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(iii) one (1) regular day's pay.
27.04 Should a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation period, that day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday day at the Basic Rate of Pay.
27.05 When a named holiday falls on a Full-Time Employee's regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive:
(a) by failing mutual agreement, a day off with pay added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off agreement within thirty (30) calendar days after as to the named holiday; or
(c) option to be applied, it shall be deemed that payment of one (1) regular day's days pay in lieu at the basic rate of the named holiday.
27.06 No payment shall be made for any named holiday occurring during a layoff or unpaid leave of absence.
27.07 The Employer shall endeavor to schedule an Employee in such a manner as to provide them with days off on at least three of the actual named holidays as provided in Article 27.

19.06 (a) Time worked shall be deemed to have been worked on the Named Holiday at two times (2X) day on which the Basic Rate majority of Payhours of the shift fall.

NAMED HOLIDAYS. (a) The Employees shall be entitled to receive a day off with pay on or for the following are considered paid holidaysNamed Holidays: New Year's ’s Day Labour Day Alberta Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day August Civic Holiday (Heritage Day) National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Day and all general holidays proclaimed In addition to the foregoing Named Holidays, Employees who are employed in the LPN classification on or before July 1st in any year shall be granted one (1) additional holiday as a “floater” in that year at a mutually agreeable time. Failing mutual agreement by December 31st of that year, the municipality or Employee shall receive payment for such day at the Government Employee’s Basic Rate of Alberta or CanadaPay.
(b) In addition and any day proclaimed to be a holiday by
(i) the foregoing Government of the Province of Alberta and/or
(ii) the Government of Canada. Further, any day proclaimed by the government of the municipality to be a civic holiday for general observance by the municipal community in which the Centre is located.
(c) Any of the following faith based named holidays, Employees who are employed as : Good Friday Christmas Day may be exchanged within the same calendar year for any religious holiday of October 1st ones’ own faith at the request of each contract year, shall be granted an additional "floater" holiday in that contract yearthe Employee. The "floater" holiday Employee shall be taken provide at a time to be mutually agreed upon by least twenty-one (21) calendar days’ notice of the Employer and the Employeerequest.
27.02 20.02 Notwithstanding the foregoing, while:
(a) on layoff; or
(b) in receipt of compensation from the Workers’ Compensation Board; or
(c) on other leaves of absence with pay in excess of thirty (30) calendar days for any reason; an Employee shall not be entitled to:
(i) a day off with pay, or
(ii) payment in lieu thereof, for the aforementioned Named Holidays.
20.03 To qualify for a named holiday Named Holiday with pay pay, the Employee mustmust have:
(a) work Worked for the Employer for at least thirty (30) days in the year before the general holiday;
(b) Worked their last scheduled shift immediately prior to before, and immediately following the first scheduled shift after the holiday except where the Employee is absent due to illness illness, or other reasons acceptable to the Employer;; and
(bc) work Worked on the paid holiday Holiday when scheduled or required to do so.
27.03 20.04 An Employee obliged in the course of duty shall not be entitled to work on payment for a named holiday shall be paid Holiday or a day off in lieu when the Employee is absent for all hours worked any reason for more than thirty (30) days except when she is on the named holiday at one approved vacation.
20.04 All Eligible Employees as per 20.03 and one-half times (11/2 X) their Basic Rate of Pay plus20.04 who are:
(a) by mutual agreement, a Normally scheduled to work on day added to of the Employee's next annual vacation; orholiday - does not work: The Employee will be paid their regular wages for the day.
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay.
(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receive, in addition to the above, compensating time off at their Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.
(e) All Eligible Employees obliged as per 20.03 and 20.04 who are: Normally scheduled to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the Named Holiday at two times (2X) day of the Basic Rate of Pay. Plusholiday and does work:

(ii) a mutually agreeable Employee will be paid their regular wages for the day of the holiday and, within three (3) months after the statutory holiday, will be required to take another day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(iii) one (1) regular day's pay.
27.04 Should a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation period, that day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday day at the Basic Rate of Pay.
27.05 When a named holiday falls on a Full-Time Employee's regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day off with pay added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay in lieu of the named statutory holiday.
27.06 No payment shall . The replacement holiday will be made for any named holiday occurring during a layoff or unpaid leave of absence.
27.07 The Employer shall endeavor day on which the Employee is normally scheduled to schedule an Employee in such a manner as to provide them with days off on at least three of the actual named holidays as provided in Article 27.

20.06 If a general holiday falls during an Employee's annual paid vacation, and it falls on a day that the Employee would normally have worked, the paid vacation will be extended by one day. Alternatively, the Employee will have the option of taking decreased vacation by one day.

NAMED HOLIDAYS. 10.01 The following days will be considered as paid named holidays: DRAFT

(b) In addition The Employer will determine when the Christmas Float Holiday (three paid days) will be observed so as to ensure that the foregoing named holidaysefficient operation of the schools will be maintained. This Christmas Float Holiday shall be observed during the regular Christmas school holiday period, and
(c) All Employees who are employed as entitled to three (3) paid days off to be taken between Christmas and New Year’s except where operational requirements do not permit. Days off shall be designated by the Employer.
10.02 Should any of October 1st of each contract yearthe holidays listed in 10.01 (a) fall on a weekend, or on an employee’s regular day off, the Employee, shall be granted receive an additional "floater" extra day’s holiday in that contract year. The "floater" holiday shall to be taken at a time to be mutually agreed upon approved by the Employer Chief Superintendent or the Employee shall receive a regular day’s pay. Part time Employees working less than five (5) days per week shall receive extra holiday credits on a pro rata basis according to the number of days and the Employeehours they actually work.
27.02 To qualify 10.03 Church holidays, or any other special holidays, shall be observed at the discretion of the Employer .
10.04 Requests for a named holiday with leave without pay on religious holidays will be considered, provided adequate notice of the Employee mustrequest is given.

27.03 An Employee obliged in the course of duty called back to work on a named paid holiday, they shall be compensated in accordance with the provisions of the Overtime Article.
10.06 Authorized travel on Employer business on a paid holiday shall be considered working hours and shall be compensated in accordance with Article 24.
10.07 An Employee required to work on December 25 or 26 or on January 1 shall be compensated in accordance with the overtime Article.
10.08 To qualify for paid for all hours holidays, an Employee must have worked on the last scheduled shift prior to the holiday and the first scheduled shift following the holiday, except where absence due to illness is substantiated by a certificate, signed by a medical practitioner.
10.09 Should any of the holidays listed in 10.01 (a) fall during a period of vacation or a period of sick leave the named holiday at one will be paid and one-half times (11/2 X) their Basic Rate of Pay plus:
(a) by mutual agreement, a no day added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay.
(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receive, in addition to the above, compensating time off at their Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.

(a) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay.
(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receive, in addition to the above, compensating time off at their Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.
(e) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the Named Holiday at two times (2X) 1 1/2X the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay. PlusPay plus:
(i) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed time;
(ii) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's ’s next annual vacation; or
(ii) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; , or
(iii) one (1) regular day's pay.
27.04 Should a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation periodby mutual agreement, that day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday Employee may receive payment for such day at the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay.
27.05 When a named holiday falls on a Full-Time Employee's regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day off with pay added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay in lieu of the named holiday.
27.06 No payment shall be made for any named holiday occurring during a layoff or unpaid leave of absence.
27.07 The Employer shall endeavor to schedule an An Employee in such a manner as to provide them with days off on at least three of the actual named holidays as provided in Article 27.

(2Xi) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed time;
(ii) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee’s next annual vacation; or
(iii) by mutual agreement, the Employee may receive payment for such day at the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay.
28.01 Vacation Entitlement(c) Pay for the day referred in Article 17.03(a)(i)(ii)(iii) shall be for 7.5 hours.
(d) The Employer shall not schedule the alternate day until such time as the Employee and Employer have endeavoured to agree on the date of the alternate day off. Failing mutual agreement within 30 calendar days following the Named Holiday of the option to be applied, the Employee shall have a day off with pay scheduled adjacent to a scheduled day of rest.
(e) In addition to an alternate day off, an Employee who is obliged to work overtime on a Named Holiday shall be paid as follows:
(i) For all overtime hours worked on a Named Holiday 2X their Basic Rate of Pay.
(ii) For all overtime hours worked on Christmas Day 2.5X their Basic Rate of Pay.
17.04 When a Named Holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be an Employee’s regularly scheduled day of rest, the Employee shall receive an alternate day off as outlined in Article 17.03(b) above.
17.05 When a Named Holiday falls during an Employee’s annual vacation, such holiday may, by mutual agreement, be added to the vacation period, or the alternate day off shall be dealt with as set out in Article 17.03.

NAMED HOLIDAYS. (a) The All full-time Employees shall receive the following are considered paid holidaysNamed Holidays: New Year's Day Labour Day Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day August Civic Day Truth and Reconciliation Day and all general other holidays proclaimed by the municipality Federal, Provincial or the Government of Alberta or CanadaMunicipal Governments. (b) In addition order to the foregoing named holidays, Employees who are employed as of October 1st of each contract year, shall be granted an additional "floater" holiday in that contract year. The "floater" holiday shall be taken at a time to be mutually agreed upon by the Employer and the Employee.
27.02 To qualify for a named holiday with pay the Employee must
(a) Employees must work their full scheduled shift immediately prior to preceding and immediately following the holiday holiday, except where the Employee is absent due to illness illness, bereavement leave or other reasons acceptable to the Employer;vacation or approved leaves with pay.
(bc) work on All part-time and casual Employees shall receive Named Holiday pay at the paid rate of five (5%) percent of the Employees basic rate of pay, general holiday when scheduled or required to do so.
27.03 An Employee obliged pay, and vacation pay earned in the course of duty four (4) weeks immediately preceding the Named Holiday
(d) All part-time and casual employees required to work on a named holiday Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the named holiday at one and one-half times (11/2 X) their Basic Rate of Pay plus:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay.
(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receivepaid, in addition to the above, compensating time off at (c) above one and one half (1.5) times their Basic Rate basic rate of Pay pay plus any applicable shift premiums for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.worked
(e) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on Notwithstanding the Named Holiday at two times (2X) the Basic Rate of Pay. Plusforegoing, while:
(i) by mutual agreementon layoff, a day added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(ii) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with receipt of compensation from the EmployeeWorker's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; Compensation Board, or
(iii) one on leave of absence in excess of thirty (30) calendar days for any reason an Employee shall not be entitled to:
(1) regular a day off with pay; or
(2) payment in lieu thereof for the aforementioned Named Holidays.
(a) When a Named Holiday falls on a day that is a scheduled workday for a full- time Employee they shall receive the basic rate of pay for their regularly scheduled hours that day's , plus for each hour worked, any applicable shift premium, and one and one half times (1.5) their basic rate of pay.
27.04 Should (b) When a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation period, that day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday day at the Basic Rate of Pay.
27.05 When a named holiday falls on a Full-Time full time Employee's regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive:

NAMED HOLIDAYS. In addition to the foregoing named holidaysNamed Holidays, Employees employees who are employed as of October 1st of each contract yearin the Employer’s employ on January 1st, shall be granted an additional "floater" holiday in that contract yearas a “Floater” holiday until an additional Named Holiday is proclaimed by one of Clause 22.01 (a), (b) or (c) at which time the “Floater” will be replaced by the additional Named Holiday and will be subject to the provisions of Clause 22.02. The "floater" “Floater” holiday shall will be taken at a time to be mutually agreed upon scheduled by the Employer and the Employeeduring that calendar year.
27.02 22.02 To qualify for a named holiday with pay the Employee Named Holiday pay, an employee must:
(a) work their his last scheduled shift immediately prior to the holiday and immediately his first scheduled shift following the holiday holiday, except where the Employee absence is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer;
(b) work on the paid a holiday when that he is scheduled or required to do so;
(c) not be on a leave of absence.
27.03 22.03 An Employee obliged in the course of duty employee scheduled to work on a named holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the named holiday at one and one-half times (11/2 X) their Basic Rate of Pay plus:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay.
(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receive, in addition to the above, compensating time off at their Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.
(e) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the Named Holiday at two times (2X2x) the Basic Rate his basic rate of Pay. Pluspay plus:
(ia) one day’s pay at his basic rate of pay; or
(b) mutually agreed day off with pay at his basic rate of pay; or
(c) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's his next annual vacation; or
(ii) , which day shall be paid for at his basic rate of pay. Should a mutually agreeable Named Holiday fall during an employee’s vacation period, he shall be allowed an extra day off for such Named Holiday. Should it not be possible for the employee to take such extra day in connection with his vacation, he shall be allowed the extra day at his basic rate of pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off to be taken within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(iii) one (1) regular day's paymonth.
27.04 Should 22.04 When a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation period, that day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday day at the Basic Rate of Pay.
27.05 When a named holiday falls on a Full-Time Employee's day that would otherwise be an employee’s regularly scheduled day off, the Employee employee shall receive:receive an alternate day off.
(a) by mutual agreement, a day off with pay added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay 22.05 All accumulated time in lieu of the named holiday.

NAMED HOLIDAYS. (a) The 25.01 Any reference to Named Holidays in this Agreement applies to the following are considered paid holidaysdays: New Year's Day Labour Day Alberta Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day August Civic Day Truth and Reconciliation Day Holiday and all general holidays proclaimed to be a statutory holiday by any of the municipality or following levels of Governmental authority:
(a) the Municipal Government of Alberta or Canada.in which the base office is located; or
(b) the Province of Alberta; or
(c) the Government of Canada.
25.02 In addition to the foregoing named holidaysNamed Holidays, Full-Time Employees who are employed as in the employ of October 1st of each contract yearthe Employer on July 1, shall be granted an two additional "holidays as “floater" holiday in that contract year” holidays. The "floater" holiday shall floater holidays will be taken at a time to be mutually agreed upon scheduled by mutual agreement between the Employer and the Employee. If the holidays are not taken by the last day of December in any given year, they shall be paid out.
27.02 To qualify 25.03 No payment shall be due for a named holiday with pay the Employee mustNamed Holiday, which occurs during:
(a) work their a layoff; or
(b) all forms of leave during which an Employee is not paid; or
(c) an absence while in receipt of disability insurance or Workers’ Compensation Benefits.
25.04 A Full-Time Employee shall be entitled to a day off with pay on, or for, a Named Holiday provided she:
(a) works her scheduled shift immediately prior to and immediately following the holiday Named Holiday except where the Employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer;; and
(b) work works on the paid holiday Named Holiday when scheduled or required to do so.
27.03 An 25.05 A Full-Time Employee obliged in the course of duty to work who works on a named holiday Named Holiday shall be paid for all regularly scheduled hours worked on the named holiday Named Holiday at one and one-half times (11/2 X1 1/ 2X) their Basic Rate the basic rate of Pay pay plus:

(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receive, in addition 25.06 Subject to the above, compensating time off at their Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.
(e) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the 25.04 when a Named Holiday at two times (2X) the Basic Rate of Pay. Plus:
(i) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(ii) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(iii) one (1) regular day's pay.
27.04 Should a named holiday fall falls during an Employee's vacation period, that day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday day at the Basic Rate of Pay.
27.05 When a named holiday falls on a Full-Time Employee's regularly scheduled day off, ’s annual vacation the Employee shall receive:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day off with pay added to the Employee's ’s annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee’s regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days of the Employee’s return from annual vacation; or
(c) one (1) day’s regular pay in lieu of the Named Holiday.
25.07 When a Named Holiday falls on a Full-Time Employee’s regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive:
(a) by mutual agreement a day off with pay added to the Employee’s next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's ’s regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days or after the named holidayNamed Holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay in lieu of the named holidayNamed Holiday.
27.06 No payment 25.08 If the Employer designates a common date for the day off with pay in lieu of a Named Holiday which falls on a Saturday or Sunday, such common date shall be made for any named holiday occurring during a layoff or unpaid leave designated by way of absencenotice posted in the Base Office at least six (6) months prior to the occurrence of the Named Holiday.
27.07 The Employer (a) A Full-Time Employee shall endeavor to schedule an Employee in such a manner be so scheduled as to provide them her with days off on at least three four (4) of the actual named holidays as provided in Article 27.
01Named Holidays. Where possibleIn addition, each Employee she shall be given either Christmas Day or New Year's Day offoff unless otherwise requested by the Employee.
(i) A Full-Time Employee granted Christmas Day off in accordance with Article 25.09(a) shall be scheduled such that she shall have three (3) consecutive days where she will not be obliged to work (i.e., December 23 rd, 24th and 25 th or December 24 th, 25th and 26 th); and
(ii) A Full-Time Employee granted New Year's Day off in accordance with Article 25.09(a) shall be scheduled such that she shall have three (3) consecutive days where she shall not be obliged to work (i.e., December 30 th, 31st and January 1 st or December 31 st, January 1 st and 2 nd).
25.10 Part-Time Employees
(a) On each pay cheque A Part-time Time Employee who works on a Named Holiday (not the designated day off in lieu as per Article 25.08) shall be paid the rate of one and Temporary one-half times (1 1/ 2 X) her basic rate of pay for all hours worked up to seven (7) hours.
(b) Part-Time Employees shall be paid, in addition to their Basic Rate of Pay, five percent (5%) of their Basic Rate earnings paid at the basic rate of Pay pay, in lieu of named holiday benefitsNamed Holidays.
(b) 25.11 Temporary Part-time Time and Casual Employees
(a) Temporary Part-Time or Casual Employees required to work on a named holiday Named Holiday (not the designated day off in lieu as per Article 25.08) shall be paid at one and one-half times (11/2 X1 1/ 2X) their Basic Rate basic rate of Pay for such work.
(c) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid pay for all hours worked on the Named Holiday at two times (2X) the Basic Rate of PayHoliday.

NAMED HOLIDAYS. 10.01 The following days will be considered as paid named holidays:
(a) The following are considered paid holidays: New Year's Years Day Labour Day Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Easter Monday (if school holiday or Monday of Spring Break) Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day August Civic Day Truth and Reconciliation Day Holiday Christmas Floater and all general holidays proclaimed to be a statutory holiday by any of the municipality following:
(i) The city or municipality;
(ii) The Government of the Province of Alberta; or the Government of Alberta or Canada.
(b) In addition The Board will determine when the Christmas Float Holiday (three paid days) will be observed so as to insure that the foregoing named holidaysefficient operation of the Schools will be maintained. This Christmas Float Holiday shall be observed during the regular Christmas school holiday period, and
(c) All Employees who are employed as entitled to three (3) paid days off to be taken between Christmas and New Year’s except where operational requirements do not permit. Days off shall be designated by the Employer.
10.02 Should any of October 1st of each contract yearthe holidays listed in 10.01 (a) fall on a weekend, or on an employee’s regular day off, the Employee, shall be granted receive an additional "floater" extra day’s holiday in that contract year. The "floater" holiday shall to be taken at a time to be mutually agreed upon approved by the Employer Superintendent or the Employee shall receive a regular day’s pay. Part time Employees working less than five (5) days per week shall receive extra holiday credits on a pro rata basis according to the number of days and the Employeehours they actually work.
27.02 To qualify 10.03 Church holidays, or any other special holidays, shall be observed at the discretion of the Board.
10.04 Requests for a named holiday with leave without pay on religious holidays will be considered, provided adequate notice of the Employee mustrequest is given.

10.06 Authorized travel on Employer business on a paid holiday shall be considered working hours and shall be compensated in accordance with Article 24.
10.07 An Employee required to work on December 25 or 26 or on January 1 shall be compensated in accordance with the overtime Article.
10.08 To qualify for paid for all hours holidays, an employee must have worked on the last scheduled shift prior to the holiday and the first scheduled shift following the holiday, except where absence due to illness is substantiated by a certificate, signed by a medical practitioner.
10.09 Should any of the holidays listed in 10.01 (a) fall during a period of vacation or a period of sick leave the named holiday at one will be paid and one-half times (11/2 X) their Basic Rate of Pay plus:
(a) by mutual agreement, a no day added to shall be deducted from the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's payvacation entitlement or sick credit.
(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receive, in addition to 10.10 Should any of the above, compensating time off at their Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.
(e) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the Named Holiday at two times (2X) the Basic Rate of Pay. Plus:
(i) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or

(b) work on the paid holiday when scheduled or required to do so.
27.03 An (a) Except as specified in clause 18.03 (b), an Employee obliged in the course of duty to work on a named holiday Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the named holiday Named Holiday at one and one-a half times (11/2 X1 1/2X) their Basic Rate the Employee’s basic hourly rate of Pay pay plus:
(ai) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed time; or
(ii) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's his/her next annual vacation; or
(biii) a mutually agreeable by mutual agreement, the Employee may receive payment for such day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's at his/her basic hourly rate of pay.
(db) where applicable, an An Employee shall receive, in addition to the above, compensating time off at their Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.
(e) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the Named Holiday at two times (2X) the Basic Rate Employee’s basic hourly rate of Pay. Pluspay plus:
(i) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed time;
(ii) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's his/her next annual vacation; or
(iiiii) a mutually agreeable by mutual agreement, the Employee may receive payment for such day at the Employee’s basic hourly rate of pay.
(c) The Employer shall not schedule the alternate day off with pay as provided in conjunction with clause 18.03 (a), (b), (i) and (ii) until such time as the Employee's regular days off Employee and the Employer have endeavored to agree on the date of the alternate day off. Failing mutual agreement within thirty (30) calendar days after the named holiday; or
(iii) one (1) regular day's pay.
27.04 Should a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation period, that day shall be taken off as following the Named Holiday of the option to be applied, the Employee shall have a day at the off with pay scheduled adjacent to a scheduled day of rest.
(d) In addition to an alternate day off, an Employee who is obliged to work overtime on a Named Holiday shall be paid as follows:
(i) for all overtime hours worked on a Named Holiday two point five times (2.5X) their Basic Hourly Rate of Pay.
27.05 (ii) for all overtime hours worked on August Civic Holiday and Christmas Day three times (3X) their Basic Hourly Rate of Pay.
18.04 When a named holiday Named Holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be a Full-Time time Employee's ’s regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive:receive an alternate day off as outlined in clause 18.03 above.
(a) 18.05 When a Named Holiday falls during a Full-time Employee’s annual vacation, such holiday may, by mutual agreement, a day off with pay be added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable vacation period, or the alternate day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay in lieu of the named holiday.
27.06 No payment shall be made for any named holiday occurring during a layoff or unpaid leave of absence.
27.07 The Employer shall endeavor to schedule an Employee dealt with as set out in such a manner as to provide them with days off on at least three of the actual named holidays as provided in Article 27.

(a) On each pay cheque Part-time and Temporary Employees Unless requested by the Employee, an Employee shall be paidscheduled to have either Christmas Day off or New Year’s Day off. (bi) Part-time and Temporary Employees required An Employee granted Christmas Day off in accordance with clause 18.06(a) shall be scheduled such that the Employee shall have two (2) consecutive days where he/she will not be obliged to work on a named holiday (i.e., December 24 and 25, or December 25-26).
(ii) An Employee granted New Year’s Day off in accordance with clause 18.06(a) shall be paid at one scheduled such that the Employee shall have two (2) consecutive days where he/she will not be obliged to work (i.e., December 31 and oneJanuary 1, or January 1-half times (11/2 X) their Basic Rate of Pay for such work2).
(c) Employees obliged Unless otherwise requested by the Employee, the Employer will endeavour that no Employee shall be scheduled to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the Named Holiday at two times (2X2) the Basic Rate of Payconsecutive years.

NAMED HOLIDAYS. 18.02 Clause 18.01 does not apply while an Employee is in receipt of compensation from the Workers’ Compensation Board, or any unpaid absence where the Employee is in receipt of weekly indemnity as provided for by the municipality Short Term Disability Income Insurance Plan or the Government Long Term Disability Income Insurance Plan or on other leaves of Alberta or Canadaabsence in excess of thirty (30) calendar days for any reason.
(b) In addition to the foregoing named holidays, Employees who are employed as of October 1st of each contract year, shall be granted an additional "floater" holiday in that contract year. The "floater" holiday shall be taken at a time to be mutually agreed upon by the Employer and the Employee.
27.02 18.03 To qualify for a named holiday Named Holiday with pay pay, the Employee must:
(a) work their the Employee’s scheduled shift immediately prior to and immediately following the holiday holiday, except where the Employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer;; and
(b) work on the paid holiday when scheduled or required to do so.
27.03 An (a) A Full-time Employee obliged in the course of duty to work who works on a named holiday shall be paid for all regularly scheduled hours worked on the named holiday at one and one-half point five times (11/2 X1.5X) their the Basic Rate of Pay plus:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay.
(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receive, in addition to the above, compensating time off at their Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.
(e) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the Named Holiday at two times (2X) the Basic Rate of Pay. Plus:
(i) by mutual agreement, a day or hours added to the Employee's ’s next annual vacation; or
(ii) a mutually agreeable day or hours off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holidaypay; or
(iii) one failing mutual agreement to schedule the day or hours off under (1i) regular day's pay.
27.04 Should a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation periodor (ii) by the first pay period in March, that the Employee shall receive payment for such day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday day or hours at the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay.
27.05 When a named holiday falls on a Full-Time Employee's regularly scheduled day off(b) banked Named Holiday days or hours may be paid out at the request of the employee prior to the first pay period in March in any given year.
(a) Unless an Employee requests otherwise in writing, and this request is approved by administration, the Employee shall receive:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day off with pay added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay in lieu of the named holiday.
27.06 No payment shall be made for any named holiday occurring during a layoff or unpaid leave of absence.
27.07 The Employer shall endeavor to schedule an Employee in such a manner scheduled so as to provide them with days off on at least three of the actual named holidays as provided in Article 27.

(b) Part-time and Temporary 18.07 All Employees required to work on a named holiday shall be paid at one and one-half times (11/2 X) their Basic Rate of Pay for such work.
(c) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all overtime hours worked on the Named Holiday at two times (2X) the a named holiday 2.5X their Basic Rate of Pay.
28.01 Vacation Entitlement18.08 In addition to the entitlement referenced in Article 18.06, Part-time and Casual Employees who work on a Named Holiday shall be paid the rate of one point five times (1.5X) the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked up to 7.75 hours for LPNs, Unit Clerks and Maintenance Workers, or 7.50 hours for Resident Assistants or Activity Assistants.

27.02 19.02 To qualify for a named holiday Named Holiday with pay pay, the Employee mustFull-time Employee:
(a) must work their scheduled shift immediately prior to and immediately following the holiday holiday, except where the Employee is absent due to illness illness, or other reasons acceptable to the Employer;; and
(b) must work on the paid holiday when scheduled or required to do so.
27.03 (a) No payment shall be due for a Named Holiday which occurs during:
(i) a lay-off; or
(ii) all forms of leave during which an Employee is not paid.
(b) No additional payment shall be due for a Named Holiday that occurs during a period when an Employee is receiving Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability or Workers’ Compensation benefits.
19.04 An Employee obliged in the course of duty to work on a named holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the named holiday at one and one-half times (11/2 X) their Basic Rate of Pay plus:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay.
(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receive, in addition to the above, compensating time off at their Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.
(e) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the Named Holiday at two one and one- half times (2X11/2X) the Basic Rate their basic rate of Pay. Pluspay plus:
(ia) one (1) days pay; or
(b) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed time; or
(c) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's their next annual vacation; or
(iid) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off failing mutual agreement within thirty (30) calendar days after as to the named holiday; or
(iii) option to be applied, it shall be deemed that payment of one (1) regular day's days pay at the basic rate of pay is desired; and
(e) compensating time off, at their basic rate of pay, for all hours worked in excess of seven and three quarter (73/4) hours.
27.04 Should (a) Time worked shall be deemed to have been worked on the day on which the majority of hours of the shift fall.
(b) For clarification, a named holiday fall Named Holiday or scheduled day off shall commence at the beginning of the night shift, the first shift of the shift day, and end with the evening shift, the last shift of the shift day.
19.06 When a Named Holiday falls during an Employee's vacation period, that day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday day at the Basic Rate of Pay.
27.05 When a named holiday falls on a Full-Time Employee's regularly scheduled day off’s annual vacation, the Employee shall receive:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day off with pay added to the Employee's next annual vacationvacation period; or
(b) an alternate day off at a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days after the named holidayagreed time; or
(c) failing mutual agreement as to the option to be applied, one (1) regular day's day pay in lieu at their basic rate of the named holidaypay.

(ii) The Government of Canada. Further, any day proclaimed by the government of the municipality to be a civic holiday for general observance by the municipal community in which the site is located.
18.02 Clause 18.01 does not apply while an Employee is in receipt of compensation from the Workers’ Compensation Board, or any unpaid absence where the Employee is in receipt of weekly indemnity as provided for by the Short Term Disability Income Insurance Plan or the Government Long Term Disability Income Insurance Plan or on other leaves of Alberta or Canadaabsence in excess of thirty (30) calendar days for any reason.
(b) In addition to the foregoing named holidays, Employees who are employed as of October 1st of each contract year, shall be granted an additional "floater" holiday in that contract year. The "floater" holiday shall be taken at a time to be mutually agreed upon by the Employer and the Employee.
27.02 18.03 To qualify for a named holiday Named Holiday with pay pay, the Employee must:
(a) work their the Employee’s scheduled shift immediately prior to and immediately following the holiday holiday, except where the Employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer;; and
(b) work on the paid holiday when scheduled or required to do so.
27.03 An (a) A Full-time Employee obliged in the course of duty to work who works on a named holiday shall be paid for all regularly scheduled hours worked on the named holiday at one and one-half point five times (11/2 X1.5X) their the Basic Rate of Pay plus:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay.
(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receive, in addition to the above, compensating time off at their Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.
(e) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the Named Holiday at two times (2X) the Basic Rate of Pay. Plus:
(i) by mutual agreement, a day or hours added to the Employee's ’s next annual vacation; or
(ii) a mutually agreeable day or hours off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holidaypay; or
(iii) one failing mutual agreement to schedule the day or hours off under (1i) regular day's pay.
27.04 Should a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation periodor (ii) by the first pay period in March, that the Employee shall receive payment for such day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday day or hours at the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay.
27.05 When a named holiday falls on a Full-Time Employee's regularly scheduled day off(b) banked Named Holiday days or hours may be paid out at the request of the employee prior to the first pay period in March in any given year.
(a) Unless an Employee requests otherwise in writing, and this request is approved by administration, the Employee shall receive:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day off with pay added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay in lieu of the named holiday.
27.06 No payment shall be made for any named holiday occurring during a layoff or unpaid leave of absence.
27.07 The Employer shall endeavor to schedule an Employee in such a manner scheduled so as to provide them with days off on at least three of the actual named holidays as provided in Article 27.
01. Where possible, each Employee shall be given either Christmas Day or New Year's ’s Day off, but not necessarily both.
(ab) On each pay cheque An Employee granted Christmas Day off in accordance with Clause 18.05(a) shall be scheduled such that the Employee shall have two (2) consecutive days where the Employee will not be obliged to work (i.e., December 24th and 25th or December 25th and 26th); OR
(c) An Employee granted New Year's Day off in accordance with Clause 18.05(a) shall be scheduled such that the Employee shall have two (2) consecutive days where the Employee shall not be obliged to work (i.e., December 31st and January 1st or January 1st and 2nd).
18.06 Part-time and Temporary Casual Employees shall be paid, paid in addition to their Basic Rate of Pay, Pay five percent (5%) of their Basic Rate of Pay the Employee’s wages, Named Holiday pay and vacation pay earned in the four (4) weeks immediately preceding the Named Holiday, in lieu of named holiday benefitsthe aforementioned Named Holidays.
(b) Part-time and Temporary 18.07 All Employees required to work on a named holiday shall be paid at one and one-half times (11/2 X) their Basic Rate of Pay for such work.
(c) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all overtime hours worked on the Named Holiday at two times (2X) the a named holiday 2.5X their Basic Rate of Pay.
28.01 Vacation Entitlement18.08 In addition to the entitlement referenced in Article 18.06, Part-time and Casual Employees who work on a Named Holiday shall be paid the rate of one point five times (1.5X) the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked up to 7.75 hours for LPNs, Unit Clerks and Maintenance Workers, or 7.50 hours for Resident Assistants or Activity Assistants.

(ii) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's ’s next annual vacation; or
(ii) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(iii) one (1) regular day's pay.
27.04 Should a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation periodby mutual agreement, that day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday Employee may receive payment for such day at the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay.
27.05 When a named holiday falls on a Full-Time Employee's regularly scheduled day off, (c) The Employer shall not schedule the Employee shall receive:
(a) by mutual agreement, a alternate day off with pay added as provided in Article 18.03(a)(i) and (ii) until such time as the Employee and Employer have endeavoured to agree on the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable date of the alternate day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off off. Failing mutual agreement within thirty (30) calendar days after following the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay in lieu Named Holiday of the named holidayoption to be applied, the Employee shall have a day off with pay scheduled adjacent to a scheduled day of rest.
27.06 No payment 18.04 When a Named Holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be an Employee’s regularly scheduled day of rest, the Employee shall receive an alternate day off as outlined in Article 18.03 above.
18.05 When a Named Holiday falls during an Employee’s annual vacation, such holiday may, by mutual agreement, be added to the vacation period, or the alternate day off shall be made for any named holiday occurring during a layoff or unpaid leave of absence.
27.07 The Employer shall endeavor to schedule an Employee in such a manner dealt with as to provide them with days off on at least three of the actual named holidays as provided set out in Article 27.

(a) On each pay cheque Part-time and Temporary Except for casual Employees, all Employees shall be paidso scheduled as to be provided with days off on four (4) week ends of the actual Named Holidays. Unless otherwise requested by the Employee, in addition to their Basic Rate one of Pay, five percent these four (5%4) of their Basic Rate of Pay in lieu of named holiday benefitsholidays shall be either Christmas or New Year’s Day.
(b) Part-time and Temporary Employees required to work on a named holiday An Employee granted Christmas Day off in accordance with Article 18.06(a) shall be paid at one scheduled such that the Employee shall have two (2) consecutive days off (i.e.: December 24 and one-half times (11/2 X) their Basic Rate of Pay for such work25; or December 25 and 26).
(c) An Employee granted New Year’s Day off in accordance with Article 18.06(a) shall be scheduled such that the Employee shall have two (2) consecutive days off.
(d) Where a Named Holiday falls on a Friday or a Monday, an Employee scheduled for days of rest on the adjacent weekend shall, where possible, be granted the Named Holiday off duty.
(e) Notwithstanding Article 18.06(a), except for casual Employees, all Employees obliged shall be scheduled to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on at least four (4) week ends of the actual Named Holiday at two times (2X) the Basic Rate of PayHolidays.

NAMED HOLIDAYS. (a) The 25.01 Any reference to named holidays in this Agreement applies to the following are considered paid holidaysdays: New Year's Day Labour Day Alberta Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day August Civic Holiday National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Day and all general holidays proclaimed to be a statutory holiday by any of the municipality or following levels of Governmental authority:
(a) the Municipal Government of Alberta or Canada.in which the base office is located;
(b) the Province of Alberta; or
(c) the Government of Canada.
25.02 In addition to the foregoing named holidays, Full-time Employees who are employed as in the employ of October 1st of each contract yearthe Employer on January 1st, shall be granted an one (1) additional holiday as a "floater" holiday in that contract yearholiday. The "floater" floater holiday shall will be taken at a time to be mutually agreed upon scheduled by mutual agreement between the Employer and the Employee. If the holidays are not taken by the last day of November in any given year, they shall be paid out. two (2) “Recognition” Days. These days shall be selected by the Employee, who will give the Employer at least 30 days’ notice after which they will be treated in the same manner as other Named Holidays.
27.02 To qualify 25.03 No payment shall be due for a the named holiday with pay the Employee mustholiday, which occurs during:
(a) work a layoff; or
(b) all forms of leave during which an Employee is not paid; or
(c) an absence while in receipt of disability insurance or Workers’ Compensation Benefits.
25.04 A Full-time Employee shall be entitled to a day off with pay on, or for, a named holiday provided she:
(a) works their scheduled shift immediately prior to and immediately following the named holiday except where the Employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer;; and
(b) work works on the paid named holiday when scheduled or required to do so.

27.04 Should a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation period, that day (b) A Full-Time Employee who works on Christmas Day and/or the August Civic Holiday shall be taken off as paid for all regularly scheduled hours worked on the Named Holiday day holiday at two times (2X) three times (3X) the Basic Rate of PayPay plus:
(i) by mutual agreement, a day added to their next annual vacation; or
(ii) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee’s regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(iii) one (1) regular day’s pay.
27.05 25.06 Subject to Article 25.04 when a named holiday falls during a Full-time Employee’s annual vacation the Employee shall receive:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day off with pay added to the Employee’s annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee’s regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days of the Employee’s return from annual vacation; or
(c) one (1) day’s regular pay in lieu of the named holiday.
25.07 When a named holiday falls on a Full-Time time Employee's ’s regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day off with pay added to the Employee's ’s next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's ’s regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days or after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay in lieu of the named holiday.
27.06 No payment 25.08 If the Employer designates a common date for the day off with pay in lieu of a named holiday which falls on a Saturday or Sunday, such common date shall be made for any designated by way of notice posted at least six (6) months prior to the occurrence of the named holiday occurring during a layoff or unpaid leave of absenceholiday.
27.07 The Employer 25.09 Subject to Articles 26.02(a) and (b)
(i) A Full-Time Employee shall endeavor to schedule an Employee in such a manner be so scheduled as to provide them the Employee with days off on at least three (3) of the actual named holidays as provided in Article 27.

NAMED HOLIDAYS. 10.01 The following days will be considered as paid named holidays:
(a) The following are considered paid holidays: New Year's Years Day Labour Day Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Easter Monday (if school holiday or Monday of Spring Break) Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day August Civic Day Truth and Reconciliation Day Holiday Christmas Floater and all general holidays proclaimed to be a statutory holiday by any of the municipality following:
(i) The city or municipality;
(ii) The Government of the Province of Alberta; or the Government of Alberta or Canada.
(b) In addition The Employer will determine when the Christmas Float Holiday (three paid days) will be observed so as to ensure that the foregoing named holidaysefficient operation of the schools will be maintained. This Christmas Float Holiday shall be observed during the regular Christmas school holiday period, and
(c) All Employees who are employed as entitled to three (3) paid days off to be taken between Christmas and New Year’s except where operational requirements do not permit. Days off shall be designated by the Employer.
10.02 Should any of October 1st of each contract yearthe holidays listed in 10.01 (a) fall on a weekend, or on an employee’s regular day off, the Employee, shall be granted receive an additional "floater" extra day’s holiday in that contract year. The "floater" holiday shall to be taken at a time to be mutually agreed upon approved by the Employer Chief Superintendent or the Employee shall receive a regular day’s pay. Part time Employees working less than five (5) days per week shall receive extra holiday credits on a pro rata basis according to the number of days and the Employeehours they actually work.
27.02 To qualify 10.03 Church holidays, or any other special holidays, shall be observed at the discretion of the Employer .
10.04 Requests for a named holiday with leave without pay on religious holidays will be considered, provided adequate notice of the Employee mustrequest is given.

27.03 An Employee obliged in the course of duty called back to work on a named paid holiday, they shall be compensated in accordance with the provisions of the Overtime Article.
10.06 Authorized travel on Employer business on a paid holiday shall be considered working hours and shall be compensated in accordance with Article 24.
10.07 An Employee required to work on December 25 or 26 or on January 1 shall be compensated in accordance with the overtime Article.
10.08 To qualify for paid for all hours holidays, an Employee must have worked on the last scheduled shift prior to the holiday and the first scheduled shift following the holiday, except where absence due to illness is substantiated by a certificate, signed by a medical practitioner.
10.09 Should any of the holidays listed in 10.01 (a) fall during a period of vacation or a period of sick leave the named holiday at one will be paid and one-half times (11/2 X) their Basic Rate of Pay plus:
(a) by mutual agreement, a no day added to shall be deducted from the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's payvacation entitlement or sick credit.
(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receive, in addition to 10.10 Should any of the above, compensating time off at their Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.
(e) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the Named Holiday at two times (2X) the Basic Rate of Pay. Plus:
(i) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or

(c) one (1) regular day's pay in lieu of the named holiday.

The "floater" holiday shall be taken at a time to be mutually agreed upon by the Employer kept and the Employeeobserved as such.
27.02 To qualify for a named holiday with pay the Employee must

(c) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the a Named Holiday at two times (2X) the Basic Rate of Paywhich occurs during a period when an Employee is receiving Long-‐Term Disability.

NAMED HOLIDAYS. 19.01 (a) The Full-time employees shall be entitled to a day off with pay on or for the following are considered paid holidaysNamed Holidays based on basic rate of pay: New Year's ’s Day Labour Day Alberta Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day August Civic Day Truth and Reconciliation Day Easter Monday and all general holidays proclaimed to be a statutory holiday by any of the municipality or following:
(i) the Siksika Nation; or
(ii) the Province of Alberta; or
(iii) the Government of Alberta or Canada.
(b) In addition If the Employer designates a common date for the day off with pay in lieu of a Named Holiday which falls on a Saturday or Sunday, such common date shall be designated by way of notice posted in the ambulance stations at least six (6) months prior to the foregoing named holidays, Employees who are employed as occurrence of October 1st of each contract year, shall be granted an additional "floater" holiday in that contract year. The "floater" holiday shall be taken at a time to be mutually agreed upon by the Employer and the EmployeeNamed Holiday.
27.02 19.02 To qualify for a named holiday Named Holiday with pay the Employee employee must:
(a) work their scheduled shift immediately prior to and immediately following the holiday except where the Employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer;
(b) work on the paid holiday Named Holiday when scheduled or required to do so.
27.03 19.03 Day' as referenced in this article shall be defined as the twenty-four (24) hour period on the Named Holiday.
19.04 An Employee obliged employee obliged, in the course of duty to work on a named holiday Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the named holiday a Named Holiday at one and one-half times (11/2 1.5 X) their Basic Rate basic rate of Pay pluspay, and an alternate day to be taken as follows:
(ai) at the written request of the employee, payment of one (1) day's pay; or
(ii) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed time; or
(iii) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's their next annual vacation.
19.05 When a Named Holiday falls during an employee's annual vacation, the employee shall receive:
(i) at the written request of the employee, payment of one (1) day's pay; or
(bii) an alternate day off at a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holidayagreed time; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay.
(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receive, in addition to the above, compensating time off at their Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.
(e) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the Named Holiday at two times (2X) the Basic Rate of Pay. Plus:
(iiii) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's their next annual vacation.
(a) No payment shall be due for a Named Holiday which occurs during:
(i) a layoff, or
(ii) all forms of leave during which an employee is not paid.
(b) No additional payment shall be due for a Named Holiday which occurs during a period when an employee is receiving Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability or Workers' Compensation benefits.
19.07 Named Holidays — Temporary and Casual Employees Article 19 is replaced in its entirety by the following:
(a) Temporary and Casual employees required to work on a Named Holiday, which are: New Year’s Day Labour Day Alberta Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day August Civic Day Easter Monday and all general holidays proclaimed to be a statutory holiday by any of the following:
(i) the Province of Alberta; or
(ii) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(iii) one (1) regular day's pay.
27.04 Should a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation period, that day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday day at the Basic Rate Government of Pay.
27.05 When a named holiday falls on a Full-Time Employee's regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day off with pay added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay in lieu of the named holiday.
27.06 No payment shall be made for any named holiday occurring during a layoff or unpaid leave of absence.
27.07 The Employer shall endeavor to schedule an Employee in such a manner as to provide them with days off on at least three of the actual named holidays as provided in Article 27.

NAMED HOLIDAYS. (bc) Any of the following faith based named holidays: Good Friday Christmas Day may be exchanged within the same calendar year for any religious holiday of ones’ own faith at the request of the Employee. The Employee shall provide at least twenty-one (21) calendar days’ notice of the request.
(d) In addition to the foregoing named holidaysNamed Holidays, Employees who are employed as of October in the LPN Classification on or before July 1st of each contract year, in any year shall be granted an two (2) additional "floater" holiday holidays as “Floater” holidays in that contract year. The "floater" holiday Such holidays shall be taken granted at a time to be mutually agreed upon agreeable time. Failing mutual agreement by December 31st of that year, the Employer and Employee shall receive payment for such day at the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay.
27.02 20.02 Notwithstanding the foregoing, while:
(a) on layoff; or
(b) in receipt of compensation from the Workers’ Compensation Board; or
(c) on other leaves of absence with pay in excess of thirty (30) calendar days for any reason an Employee shall not be entitled to:
(i) a day off with pay, or
(ii) payment in lieu thereof, for the aforementioned Named Holidays.
20.03 To qualify for a named holiday Named Holiday with pay pay, the Employee mustmust have:
(a) work their scheduled shift immediately prior to and immediately following Worked for the holiday except where Employer for at least thirty (30) days in the Employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to year before the Employergeneral holiday;
(b) work Worked their last scheduled shift before, and the first scheduled shift after the holiday; and
(c) Worked on the paid holiday Holiday when scheduled or required to do so.
27.03 20.04 An Employee obliged in the course of duty shall not be entitled to work on payment for a named holiday shall be paid Holiday or a day off in lieu when the Employee is absent for all hours worked any reason for more than thirty (30) days except when she is on the named holiday at one and one-half times (11/2 X) their Basic Rate of Pay plusapproved vacation.
20.05 All Eligible Employees as per 20.03 & 20.04 who are:
(a) by mutual agreement, a Normally scheduled to work on day added of the holiday – does not work: The Employee will be paid their regular wages for the day.
(b) Normally scheduled to work on day of the Employee's next annual vacationholiday –works:
(i) The Employee will be paid their regular rate of pay plus time-and a- half (1.5X) for all hours worked; or
(bii) a mutually agreeable Employee will be paid their regular wages for the day of the holiday and, within three (3) months after the statutory holiday, will be required to take another day off with pay in conjunction with lieu of the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after statutory holiday. The replacement holiday will be a day on which the named holiday; orEmployee is normally scheduled to work.
(c) one (1) regular day's A Casual Employee not normally scheduled to work on day of holiday – does not work: The Employee will not be entitled to receive pay for the statutory holiday nor another day off with pay.
(d) where applicable, an Casual Employee shall receive, in addition normally scheduled to work on day of the above, compensating time off at their Basic Rate of Pay holiday – works: Employee will be paid time-and-a-half for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01worked.
(e) Employees obliged to Ineligible Employee who does not work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall day of the holiday: Employee is not entitled to receive pay for the holiday nor another day off with pay.
(f) Ineligible Employee who works on day of the holiday: Employee is entitled to be paid at regular rates of pay for all hours worked on the Named Holiday at two times (2X) the Basic Rate of Pay. Plus:worked.
(i) by mutual agreement, a day added 20.06 All Employees who work an irregular work schedule will be paid according to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(ii) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(iii) one (1) regular day's pay.
27.04 Should a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation period, that day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday day at the Basic Rate of Pay.
27.05 When a named holiday falls on a Full-Time Employee's regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receivefollowing guidelines:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day off with pay added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay in lieu If during at least five of the named holiday.
27.06 No payment shall be made for any named holiday occurring during a layoff or unpaid leave of absence.
27.07 The Employer shall endeavor to schedule an last nine weeks, the Employee in such a manner as to provide them with days off on at least three of the actual named holidays as provided in Article 27.

27.02 To qualify for a named holiday with pay the Employee must
(a) Employees must work their full scheduled shift immediately prior to preceding and immediately following the holiday holiday, except where the Employee is absent due to illness illness, bereavement leave or other reasons acceptable to the Employer;vacation or approved leaves with pay.
(bc) work on All part-time and casual Employees shall receive Named Holiday pay at the paid rate of five (5%) percent of the Employees basic rate of pay, general holiday when scheduled or required to do so.
27.03 An Employee obliged pay, and vacation pay earned in the course of duty four (4) weeks immediately preceding the Named Holiday
(d) All part-time and casual employees required to work on a named holiday Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the named holiday at one and one-half times (11/2 X) their Basic Rate of Pay plus:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay.
(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receivepaid, in addition to the above, compensating time off at (c) above one and one half times (1.5X) their Basic Rate basic rate of Pay pay plus any applicable shift premiums for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.worked
(e) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on Notwithstanding the Named Holiday at two times (2X) the Basic Rate of Pay. Plusforegoing, while:
(i) by mutual agreementon layoff, a day added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(ii) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with receipt of compensation from the EmployeeWorker's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; Compensation Board, or
(iii) one on leave of absence in excess of thirty (30) calendar days for any reason an Employee shall not be entitled to:
(1) regular a day off with pay; or
(2) payment in lieu thereof for the aforementioned Named Holidays.
(a) When a Named Holiday falls on a day that is a scheduled workday for a full-time Employee they shall receive the basic rate of pay for their regularly scheduled hours that day's , plus for each hour worked, any applicable shift premium, and one and one half times (1.5X) their basic rate of pay.
27.04 Should (b) When a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation period, that day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday day at the Basic Rate of Pay.
27.05 When a named holiday falls on a Full-Time full time Employee's regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive:

27.04 Should a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation periodby mutual agreement, that day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday Employee may receive payment for such day at the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay.
27.05 When a named holiday falls (c) The Employer shall not schedule the alternate day off with pay as provided in Article 17.03(a) and (b) until such time as the Employee and Employer have endeavoured to agree on a Full-Time Employee's regularly scheduled the date of the alternate day off. Failing mutual agreement within 30 calendar days following the Named Holiday of the option to be applied, the Employee shall receive:
(a) by mutual agreement, have a day off with pay scheduled.
17.04 When a Named Holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be an Employee’s regularly scheduled day of rest, the Employee shall receive an alternate day off as outlined in Article 17.03 above.
17.05 When a Named Holiday falls during an Employee’s annual vacation, such holiday may, by mutual agreement, be added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable vacation period, or the alternate day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay in lieu of the named holiday.
27.06 No payment shall be made for any named holiday occurring during a layoff or unpaid leave of absence.
27.07 The Employer shall endeavor to schedule an Employee in such a manner dealt with as to provide them with days off on at least three of the actual named holidays as provided set out in Article 2717.03.

28.01 Vacation Entitlement(c) The Employer shall not schedule the alternate day off with pay as provided in Article 15.03(a) (i) and (ii) or 15.03(b) (i) and (ii) until such time as the Employee and Employer have endeavored to agree on the date of the alternate day off. Failing mutual agreement within thirty (30) calendar days following the Named Holiday of the option to be applied, the Employee shall have a day off with pay scheduled adjacent to a scheduled day of rest.
(d) In addition to an alternate day off, an Employee who is obliged to work overtime on a Named Holiday shall be paid as follows:
(i) For all overtime hours worked on a Named Holiday 2.5X their Basic Rate of Pay.
(ii) For all overtime hours worked on August Civic Holiday and Christmas Day 3X their Basic Rate of Pay.
(iii) No Employee shall receive payment under 15.03 (a), (b) and (d) concurrently.

NAMED HOLIDAYS. 27.02 22.02 To qualify for a named paid holiday with pay the a Regular Employee must:
(a) work their his scheduled shift immediately prior to and immediately following the holiday except where the Employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer;. In the event of an illness the Employer will require a medical certificate; or
(b) work on the paid holiday when scheduled or required to do so.
27.03 An (a) A Regular Employee obliged in the course of duty to work on a named holiday Paid Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the named holiday Paid Holiday at one and one-half times (11/2 X1 1/2X) their his Basic Rate of Pay plus:
(ai) one (1) regular day's pay; or,
(ii) a mutually agreeable day off with pay within thirty (30) calendar days either before or after the holiday; or,
(iii) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's his next annual vacation; or;
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay.
(d) where applicable, an A Regular Employee shall receive, in addition to the above, compensating time off at their Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.
(e) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the Named Holiday at two times (2X) the Basic Rate Employee’s basic rate of Pay. Pluspay plus:
(i) an alternate day off with pay at a mutually agreed time; OR
(ii) by mutual agreement, a day with pay added to the Employee's ’s next annual vacation; or
(iiiii) by mutual agreement, the Employee may receive payment for such day at the Employee’s basic rate of pay.
(a) Should a mutually agreeable Paid Holiday fall during a Regular Employee's vacation period, he shall be allowed an extra day off with pay for such Paid Holiday. Should it not be possible for the Employee to take such extra day in conjunction connection with his vacation, he shall be allowed the Employee's regular days off extra day within thirty (30) calendar days after of return to duty. Failing this the named holiday; or
(iii) Employee shall be given one (1) regular day's pay.
27.04 Should a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation period, that day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday day pay at the his Basic Rate of Pay.
27.05 (b) When a named holiday Paid Holiday falls on a Full-Time day that would otherwise be a Regular Employee's regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive:
(a) by mutual agreement, a receive an alternate day off with pay added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable pay. Where such alternate day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off cannot be arranged by mutual agreement within thirty (30thirty(30) calendar days after of the named holiday; or
(c) Paid Holiday, the Employee shall receive one (1) regular day's pay at his Basic Rate of Pay in lieu of the named paid holiday.
27.06 22.05 No payment shall be made for any named holiday Paid Holiday occurring during a layoff or unpaid leave of absenceabsence of eight (8) calendar days or more.
27.07 22.06 Another paid holiday substituted for Canada Day and Remembrance Day The Parties are subject to a collective agreement. The Employer shall endeavor may substitute another paid holiday for the named holidays of Canada Day and Remembrance Day if the named holiday falls on the weekend (the prior Friday if the Canada Day or Remembrance Day falls on the Saturday or the following Monday if the Canada Day or Remembrance Day falls on the Sunday) provided for in the Collective Agreement, and only if the substitution is agreed to schedule an Employee in such writing by the Employer and the Union. The Employer must post a manner as to provide them with days off on notice of the substitution for at least three of 30 days before the actual named holidays as provided in Article 27substitution takes effect.

28.01 Vacation Entitlement(c) The Employer shall not schedule the alternate day off with pay as provided in Article 15.03(a) (i) and (ii) or 15.03(b) (i) and (ii) until such time as the Employee and Employer have endeavored to agree on the date of the alternate day off. Failing mutual agreement within thirty (30) calendar days following the Named Holiday of the option to be applied, the Employee shall have a day off with pay scheduled adjacent to a scheduled day of rest.
15.04 When a Named Holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be an Employee’s regularly scheduled day of rest, the Employee shall receive an alternate day off as outlined in Article 15.03 above.
15.05 When a Named Holiday falls during an Employee’s annual vacation, such holiday may, by mutual agreement, be added to the vacation period, or the alternate day off shall be dealt with as set out in Article 15.03.
(a) An Employee shall be so scheduled as to provide her with days off on at least four (4) of the actual Named Holidays unless otherwise requested by the Employee, and approved by the Employer. Unless otherwise requested, by the Employee, one of these four (4) Named Holidays shall be either Christmas or New Year’s Day.
(i) An Employee granted Christmas Day off in accordance with Article 15.06(a) shall be scheduled such that she shall have two (2) consecutive days where she will not be obliged to work (i.e. December 24 and 25; or December 25 and 26).

In addition to the foregoing named holidaysNamed Holidays, regular full-time and temporary full time Employees who are employed as of October 1st of each contract year, shall on or before September 1 in any calendar year will be granted an additional "floater" holiday holiday, as a Float Holiday in that contract year. The "floater" holiday shall Such Holiday will be taken requested in writing by the Employee and will be scheduled at a time to be mutually agreed upon by the Employer and the Employee. Whenever possible, the Float Holiday must be taken prior to utilizing any annual vacation leave. If the Holiday is not scheduled or taken prior to January 1 of the following year, it will be either scheduled or paid out by the Employer no later than March 31. Employees whose employment terminates and have not taken the Float Holiday are not entitled to payment in lieu of such Float Holiday.
27.02 14.02 To qualify for a named holiday Named Holiday with pay pay, the Employee must:
(a) work their scheduled shift immediately prior to and immediately following the holiday except where the Employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer;, and,
(b) work on the paid holiday when scheduled or required to do soso except where the Employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer.
27.03 An 14.03 A regular full-time or temporary full-time Employee obliged in the course of duty to work on a named holiday Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the named holiday at one and one-half two times (11/2 X2X) their Basic Rate of Pay basic rate plus:
(a) one (1) regular day's pay, or
(b) a day off at a mutually agreed time within thirty (30) days either before or after the holiday, or
(c) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's their next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay., and
(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receive, in addition to the above, compensating time off at their Basic Rate of Pay straight time for all hours worked in excess of normal daily seven and one-half (7 1/2) hours referred to in Article 20.01on the named holiday.
(e) Employees obliged to work on Where a regular full time or temporary full time Employee is scheduled and works Christmas Day Eve or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on New Years Eve and such day is designated by the Named Holiday at two times (2X) the Basic Rate of Pay. Plus:
(i) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(ii) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(iii) one (1) regular day's pay.
27.04 Should a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation period, that day shall be taken off Employer as the Named Holiday in that year, it is agreed that hours worked on such day at will be eligible for the Basic Rate of Paypayments as outlined in 14.03.
27.05 (f) For the purposes of the day designated as the Named Holiday corresponding to Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve, such days shall be alternated from one year to the next. For the purpose of implementation, the initial designation shall be deemed to have been in 2005.
14.04 When a named holiday Named Holiday falls on a Full-Time day that would otherwise be an Employee's regularly ’s regular scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive:receive an alternate day off with pay as outlined in Article 14.03(b).
(a14.05 When a Named Holiday falls during an Employee’s annual vacation, such holiday(s) may, by mutual agreement, a day off with pay be added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable vacation period, or if this is not possible, the Employee shall be granted another day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular or other days off in lieu thereof. Such day(s) in lieu shall be granted within thirty (30) calendar days after of return to work from vacation unless otherwise requested by the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay in lieu of Employee and agreed to by the named holidayEmployer.
27.06 No payment shall be made for any named holiday occurring during a layoff or unpaid leave of absence.
27.07 14.06 The Employer shall endeavor endeavour to schedule an Employee in such a manner rotate, as to provide them with days off on at least three of the actual named holidays equitably as provided in Article 27.
01. Where possible, each Employee shall be given either Christmas Day or New Year's Day offamongst Employees in classifications, the requirement to work on a Named Holiday.
(a) On each pay cheque Partcheque, regular part-time, temporary part-time and Temporary casual Employees shall be paid, in addition to their Basic Rate regular rate of Paypay, five percent per cent (5%) of their Basic Rate of Pay gross regular earnings (excluding overtime and callback hours) in lieu of scheduled named holiday benefitsholidays.
(b) PartRegular part-time, temporary part-time and Temporary casual Employees required to work on a scheduled named holiday shall be paid at one and one-half two times (11/2 X2X) their Basic Rate basic rate of Pay pay for all hours worked on such workholiday(s).
(c) Employees obliged to work on Where a regular part time, temporary part time or casual Employee is scheduled and works Christmas Day Eve or August Civic New Years Eve and such day is designated by the Employer as the Named Holiday shall be paid for all in that year, it is agreed that hours worked on such day will be eligible for the premium payment outlined in 14.07 (b) above.
(d) For the purposes of the day designated as the Named Holiday at two times (2X) corresponding to Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve, such days shall be alternated from one year to the Basic Rate next. For the purpose of Payimplementation, the initial designation shall be deemed to have been in 2005.

Failing mutual agreement within 30 calendar days following the Named Holiday of the option to be applied, the Employee shall have a day off with pay scheduled adjacent to a scheduled day of rest.
(d) In addition to an alternate day off, an Employee who is obliged to work overtime on a Named Holiday shall be paid as follows:
(i) For all overtime hours worked on a Named Holiday 2.5X their Basic Rate of Pay.
(ii) For all overtime hours worked on Christmas Day 3X their Basic Rate of Pay.
16.04 When a Named Holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be an Employee’s regularly scheduled day of rest, the Employee shall receive an alternate day off as outlined in Article 16.03 above.
16.05 When a Named Holiday falls during an Employee’s annual vacation, such holiday will be added to the vacation period, and the Employee shall be paid at the Basic Rate of Pay.
28.01 Vacation Entitlement(a) An Employee shall be so scheduled as to provide the Employee with days off on at least four (4) of the actual Named Holidays. Unless otherwise requested by the Employee, one (1) of these four (4) Named Holidays shall be either Christmas or New Year’s Day.
(b) An Employee shall be granted either Christmas Day or New Years Day off in the fiscal Year. She or he will not be obliged to work both.
(i) An Employee granted Christmas Day off in accordance with Article 16.06(a) shall be scheduled such that the Employee shall have two (2) consecutive days where she or he will not be obliged to work (i.e. December 24 and 25; or December 25 and 26).
(ii) An Employee granted New Year’s Day off in accordance with Article 16.06(a) shall be scheduled such that the Employee shall have two (2) consecutive days where she or he shall not be obliged to work (i.

NAMED HOLIDAYS. (a) The 25.01 Any reference to Named Holidays in this Collective Agreement applies to the following are considered paid holidaysdays: New Year's ’s Day Labour Day Alberta Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day August Civic Day Truth and Reconciliation Day Holiday and all general holidays proclaimed to be a statutory holiday by any of the municipality or following levels of Governmental authority:
(a) the Municipal Government of Alberta or Canada.in which the institu- tion is located;
(b) In addition the Province of Alberta; or
(c) the Government of Canada. Provided that the August Civic Holiday shall not be considered a Named Holiday even if the Municipality declares it to the foregoing named holidays, Employees who are employed as of October 1st of each contract year, be so.
25.02 No payment shall be granted an additional "floater" holiday in that contract year. The "floater" holiday shall be taken at a time to be mutually agreed upon by due for the Employer and the Employee.
27.02 To qualify for a named holiday with pay the Employee mustNamed Holiday which occurs during:
(a) work their a layoff; or
(b) all forms of leave during which a regular employ- ee is not paid; or
(c) an absence while in receipt of disability insurance or Worker’s Compensation Benefits.
25.03 “Floater” Holiday
25.04 A full-time employee shall be entitled to a day off with pay on or for a Named Holiday provided she:
(a) works her scheduled shift immediately prior to and immediately following the holiday Holiday except where the Employee employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer;
(b) work works on the paid holiday Named Holiday when scheduled or required to do so.
27.03 An Employee obliged in the course of duty 25.05 Subject to work Article 17.01 a full-time employee who works on a named holiday Named Holiday shall be paid for all regu- larly scheduled hours worked on the named holiday Named Holiday at one and one-half times (11/2 X1 1/2X) their Basic Rate the basic rate of Pay pay plus:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's full-time employee’s next annual vacation; , or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction conjunc- tion with the Employee's full-time employee’s regular days off within thirty (30) days either before or after the named holidayNamed Holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's days pay.
(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receive, in addition 25.06 Subject to the above, compensating time off at their Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.
(e) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the 25.04 when a Named Holiday at two times (2X) falls during a full-time employee’s annual vacation the Basic Rate of Pay. Plus:
(i) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(ii) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(iii) one (1) regular day's pay.
27.04 Should a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation period, that day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday day at the Basic Rate of Pay.
27.05 When a named holiday falls on a Full-Time Employee's regularly scheduled day off, the Employee employee shall receive:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day off with pay added to the Employee's full-time employee’s annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunc- tion with the full-time employee’s regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days of the full- time employee’s return from annual vacation; or
(c) one (1) days regular pay in lieu of the Named Holiday.
25.07 When a Named Holiday falls on a full-time employee’s regularly scheduled day off, the full-time employee shall receive:
(a) by mutual agreement a day off with pay added to the full-time employee’s next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction conjunc- tion with the Employee's full-time employee’s regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days days, either before or after the named holidayNamed Holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's days pay in lieu of the named holidayNamed Holiday.
27.06 No payment shall be made for any named holiday occurring during 25.08 When a layoff Named Holiday falls on a Saturday or unpaid leave of absence.
27.07 The Sunday, the Employer shall endeavor to schedule an Employee in such a manner may designate the Friday prior or the Monday after the Named Holiday as to provide them with days the day off on at least three of the actual named holidays as provided in Article 27.

NAMED HOLIDAYS. 14.01 Regular full-time and temporary full-time Employees shall be entitled to a paid day off on or for (ain lieu of) The the following are considered paid named holidays: New Year's Day Labour Day Alberta Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day August Civic Day Truth and Reconciliation Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Remembrance Day Christmas Day Boxing Day Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve as scheduled by the Employer and all general holidays proclaimed by any of the municipality following: the Municipality in which the Centre/satellite site is located, the Province of Alberta or the Government of Alberta or Canada.
(b) . In addition to the foregoing named holidaysNamed Holidays, regular full-time and temporary full time Employees who are employed as of October 1st of each contract year, shall on or before September 1 in any calendar year will be granted an additional "floater" holiday holiday, as a Float Holiday in that contract year. The "floater" holiday shall Such Holiday will be taken requested in writing by the Employee and will be scheduled at a time to be mutually agreed upon by the Employer and the Employee. Whenever possible, the Float Holiday must be taken prior to utilizing any annual vacation leave. If the Holiday is not scheduled or taken prior to January 1 of the following year, it will be either scheduled or paid out by the Employer no later than March 31. Employees whose employment terminates and have not taken the Float Holiday are not entitled to payment in lieu of such Float Holiday.
27.02 14.02 To qualify for a named holiday Named Holiday with pay pay, the Employee must:
(a) work their scheduled shift immediately prior to and immediately following the holiday except where the Employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer;, and,
(b) work on the paid holiday when scheduled or required to do soso except where the Employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer.
27.03 An 14.03 A regular full-time or temporary full-time Employee obliged in the course of duty to work on a named holiday Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the named holiday at one and one-half two times (11/2 X2X) their Basic Rate of Pay basic rate plus:
(a) one (1) regular day's pay, or
(b) a day off at a mutually agreed time within thirty (30) days either before or after the holiday, or
(c) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's their next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay., and
(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receive, in addition to the above, compensating time off at their Basic Rate of Pay straight time for all hours worked in excess of normal daily seven and one-half (7 1/2) hours referred to in Article 20.01on the named holiday.
(e) Employees obliged to work on Where a regular full time or temporary full time Employee is scheduled and works Christmas Day Eve or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on New Years Eve and such day is designated by the Named Holiday at two times (2X) the Basic Rate of Pay. Plus:
(i) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(ii) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(iii) one (1) regular day's pay.
27.04 Should a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation period, that day shall be taken off Employer as the Named Holiday in that year, it is agreed that hours worked on such day at will be eligible for the Basic Rate of Paypayments as outlined in 14.03.
27.05 (f) For the purposes of the day designated as the Named Holiday corresponding to Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve, such days shall be alternated from one year to the next. For the purpose of implementation, the initial designation shall be deemed to have been in 2005.
14.04 When a named holiday Named Holiday falls on a Full-Time day that would otherwise be an Employee's regularly ’s regular scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive:receive an alternate day off with pay as outlined in Article 14.03(b).
(a14.05 When a Named Holiday falls during an Employee’s annual vacation, such holiday(s) may, by mutual agreement, a day off with pay be added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable vacation period, or if this is not possible, the Employee shall be granted another day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular or other days off in lieu thereof. Such day(s) in lieu shall be granted within thirty (30) calendar days after of return to work from vacation unless otherwise requested by the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay in lieu of Employee and agreed to by the named holidayEmployer.
27.06 No payment shall be made for any named holiday occurring during a layoff or unpaid leave of absence.
27.07 14.06 The Employer shall endeavor endeavour to schedule an Employee in such a manner rotate, as to provide them with days off on at least three of the actual named holidays equitably as provided in Article 27.
01. Where possible, each Employee shall be given either Christmas Day or New Year's Day offamongst Employees in classifications, the requirement to work on a Named Holiday.
(a) On each pay cheque Partcheque, regular part-time, temporary part-time and Temporary casual Employees shall be paid, in addition to their Basic Rate regular rate of Paypay, five point three eight percent (55.38%) of their Basic Rate of Pay gross regular earnings (excluding overtime and callback hours) in lieu of scheduled named holiday benefitsholidays.
(b) PartRegular part-time, temporary part-time and Temporary casual Employees required to work on a scheduled named holiday shall be paid at one and one-half two times (11/2 X2X) their Basic Rate basic rate of Pay pay for all hours worked on such workholiday(s).
(c) Employees obliged to work on Where a regular part time, temporary part time or casual Employee is scheduled and works Christmas Day Eve or August Civic New Years Eve and such day is designated by the Employer as the Named Holiday shall be paid for all in that year, it is agreed that hours worked on such day will be eligible for the premium payment outlined in 14.07 (b) above.
(d) For the purposes of the day designated as the Named Holiday at two times (2X) corresponding to Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve, such days shall be alternated from one year to the Basic Rate next. For the purpose of Pay.

(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receive, in addition to the above, compensating time off at their Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.
(e) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the Named Holiday at two times (2X) the Basic Rate of Pay. Plus:
(i) by mutual agreement, a day or hours added to the Employee's ’s next annual vacation; or
(ii) a mutually agreeable day or hours off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holidaypay; or
(iii) one failing mutual agreement to schedule the day or hours off under (1i) regular day's pay.
27.04 Should a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation periodor (ii) by the first pay period in March, that the Employee shall receive payment for such day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday day or hours at the Basic Employee’s Regular Rate of Pay.
27.05 When a named holiday falls on a Full-Time Employee's regularly scheduled day off(b) banked Named Holiday days or hours may be paid out at the request of the employee prior to the first pay period in March in any given year.
(a) Unless an Employee requests otherwise in writing, and this request is approved by administration, the Employee shall receive:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day off with pay added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay in lieu of the named holiday.
27.06 No payment shall be made for any named holiday occurring during a layoff or unpaid leave of absence.
27.07 The Employer shall endeavor to schedule an Employee in such a manner scheduled so as to provide them with days off on at least three of the actual named holidays as provided in Article 27.

(ab) On each pay cheque An Employee granted Christmas Day off in accordance with Clause 18.05(a) shall be scheduled such that the Employee shall have two (2) consecutive days where the Employee will not be obliged to work (i.e., December 24th and 25th or December 25th and 26th); or
(c) An Employee granted New Year's Day off in accordance with Clause 18.05(a) shall be scheduled such that the Employee shall have two (2) consecutive days where the Employee shall not be obliged to work (i.e., December 31st and January 1st or January 1st and 2nd).
18.06 Part-time and Temporary Casual Employees shall be paid, paid in addition to their Basic Regular Rate of Pay, Pay five percent (5%) of their Basic Rate of Pay the Employee’s wages, Named Holiday pay and vacation pay earned in the nine (9) weeks immediately preceding the Named Holiday, in lieu of named holiday benefitsthe aforementioned Named Holidays.
(b) Part-time and Temporary 18.07 All Employees required to work on a named holiday shall be paid at one and one-half times (11/2 X) their Basic Rate of Pay for such work.
(c) Employees obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all overtime hours worked on the Named Holiday at two times (2X) the Basic a named holiday 2.5X their Regular Rate of Pay.
28.01 Vacation Entitlement18.08 In addition to the entitlement referenced in Clause 18.06, Part-time and Casual Employees who work on a Named Holiday shall be paid the rate of one point five times (1.5X) the Employee’s Regular Rate of Pay for all hours worked up to the full-time hours stipulated in Article 12 – Hours.
