Modified Work Program and Workplace Accommodation. The Parties support fair and consistent practices for accommodating employees who have been ill or injured or require medical accommodation, to enable their safe return to suitable and appropriate work within a reasonable period of time, for which the employee has the necessary skill, ability and qualifications to perform the duties. Any accommodation practice will comply with WSIB and Ontario Human Rights Code legislation and as such the Parties may agree to make such placements irrespective of the posting provisions.

Modified Work Program and Workplace Accommodation. The Parties support fair and consistent practices for employees who have been ill or injured or require medical accommodation, to enable their safe return to suitable and appropriate work within a reasonable period of time, for which the employee has the necessary ability and qualifications to perform the duties. Any ___-- S legislation and as such the Parties may agree to make such placements irrespective of the posting provisions. The Employer shall be required to post only the second and third vacancies that result from the placing of a successful candidate in a primary vacancy. An employee who is declared a successful candidate for any posted vacancy shall not be eligible for another posted vacancy for a period of six (6) months, except in the case of a promotion to a higher category, after being transferred to the new position unless approved by the Director, Human Resources Organizational Effectiveness. In the selection of a successful applicant, group seniority will be given first consideration, qualifications and Library core competencies being relatively equal. The successful applicant who moves to a new position will have a three (3) month assessment period in which to prove his or her ability to satisfactorily perform the requirements of this position. If he or she fails to do so, the employee shall be returned to a position in his or her former category. In the event that an employee feels unable to satisfactorily perform the requirements of the position, he or she may request in writing, including rationale, to be returned to a position in the employee’s former category, without loss of seniority in the former category, provided that the request is made within three (3) months of the commencement of the new position. In the event that the employee’s request is approved, the vacancy occasioned by the move may be filled without further posting. The applicants for the initial vacancy will be considered by the Director, Human Resources Organizational Effectiveness, prior to such an appointment. After the completion of the assessment period, the or denial of the promotion is to be made to the employee in writing.

  • Modified Work Program The Employer shall provide modified work for any employee injured on the job as per the requirements of the Workers’ Safety and Insurance Board. The employee must co-operate in developing and participating in, a modified work program suited to his capabilities, and with the approval of his physician and/or the WSIB. Both the Employer and the employee shall work together to return the employee to good health and his regular duties.

  • Reasonable Accommodation for Applicants / Employees with Disabilities The contractor must be familiar with the requirements for and comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act and all rules and regulations established there under. Employers must provide reasonable accommodation in all employment activities unless to do so would cause an undue hardship.

  • PREVAILING WAGE RATES - PUBLIC WORKS AND BUILDING SERVICES CONTRACTS If any portion of work being Bid is subject to the prevailing wage rate provisions of the Labor Law, the following shall apply:

  • Modified Work Week Where Employees in a unit have indicated a desire to work a modified work week, the Employer may authorize experiments with modified work week schedule, providing operational requirements permit and the provision of services are not adversely affected. The averaging period for a modified work week shall not exceed three (3) calendar weeks, and the work day shall not exceed ten (10) hours .

  • Disability Accommodations The Department does not discriminate on the basis of disability in admission to, access to, or operations of its programs, services, or activities. Individuals who need aids, alternative document formats, or services for effective communications or other disability related accommodations in the programs and services offered are invited to make their needs and preferences known to this office. Interested parties should provide as much advance notice as possible.

  • Modified Work Where the Hospital and the Union agree, the Hospital may implement modified/rehabilitative work programs in order to assist employees returning to work following illness or injury. To facilitate these programs, it is understood and agreed that provisions of the collective agreement may, where agreed, be varied. The specific terms of the program will be signed by the Hospital and the Union.

  • CONDITIONS FOR EMERGENCY/HURRICANE OR DISASTER - TERM CONTRACTS It is hereby made a part of this Invitation for Bids that before, during and after a public emergency, disaster, hurricane, flood, or other acts of God that Orange County shall require a “first priority” basis for goods and services. It is vital and imperative that the majority of citizens are protected from any emergency situation which threatens public health and safety, as determined by the County. Contractor agrees to rent/sell/lease all goods and services to the County or other governmental entities as opposed to a private citizen, on a first priority basis. The County expects to pay contractual prices for all goods or services required during an emergency situation. Contractor shall furnish a twenty-four (24) hour phone number in the event of such an emergency.

  • Conditions to Obligations of Each Party Under This Agreement The respective obligations of each party to effect the Purchase and the other transactions contemplated herein shall be subject to the satisfaction at or prior to the Closing Date of the following conditions, any or all of which may be waived, in whole or in part, to the extent permitted by applicable Law:

  • Safe Working Conditions The Employer undertakes to maintain office furniture, equipment, etc., in a practical and safe condition in order to avoid injury to employees or damage to their attire.
