Middle School and High School a. Teachers assigned to scheduled classes shall be asked to volunteer to substitute during their designated planning period.

Middle School and High School. Each middle school and high school teacher shall be scheduled with a conference and/or preparation period, equivalent to a regular class period, each day, except that from time to time this period may be used for assembly programs.
Middle School and High School. Counselors employed on or after August 1, 2013, will be a total of fifteen (15) days or 112.5 hours of extended time, which includes but is not limited to such additional time as is required for:
Middle School and High School. An involuntarily transferred teacher shall have the right to return to the same department at the original building without an interview for the next two (2) school years. The District shall notify the affected teacher of any qualifying vacancies and the teacher shall have forty-eight (48) hours to accept or decline the position.
Middle School and High School. Students in Middle School and High School will have the opportunity to access Internet resources for independent instructional-related activities. In order to obtain this privilege, students and parents must sign this form. Any violation of the district's Acceptable Use Policy will result in the immediate loss of all access privileges. This loss of privilege will not preclude or limit other disciplinary action.
Middle School and High School. Teachers will have a preparation period each day in the middle school. In the high school, teachers will have a preparation period each day when teaching a non-block schedule as provided in (D)(1)(e)(1) & (2) of this article.
Middle School and High School. In Middle School and High School classrooms, every effort will be made to enroll no more than 160 students per teacher, per day for a six (6) period Master Schedule (except in the areas of Music and Physical Education classes) within the facility structure of the District. The Board will make every effort to equalize secondary class sizes in content areas. Any exception to the class size maximums due to extreme situations will be allowed after options developed by the BEA, the teacher involved and the administration are reviewed and discussed.
Middle School and High School. A MBU may be requested to take the class of the absent MBU. Such requests shall be equitably distributed among MBUs who do not have assigned student contact time. If substitutes are not available, a teacher may be directed to take the added assignment. MBUs will receive one-sixth (1/6) of the amount paid daily to a substitute per class period for this duty.
Middle School and High School. Each middle school teacher, other than those at K-8 STEAM, and each high school teacher will have a duty-free, continuous lunch period of at least thirty (30) minutes.
