Common use of Metric System Clause in Contracts

Metric System. To the extent U.S. DOT or FTA directs, the Recipient agrees to use the metric system of measurement in its Project activities, in accordance with the Metric Conversion Act, as amended by the Omnibus Trade and Competitiveness Act, 15 U.S.C. §§ 205a et seq.; Executive Order No. 12770, “Metric Usage in Federal Government Programs,” 15 U.S.C. § 205a note; and applicable U.S. DOT or FTA regulations, and agrees to follow applicable Federal directives, except to the extent the Federal Government determines otherwise in writing. As practicable and feasible, the Recipient agrees to accept products and services with dimensions expressed in the metric system of measurement.
