Media Destruction. Transfer Agent shall destroy removable media and any mobile device (such as discs, USB drives, DVDs, back-up tapes, laptops and PDAs) containing Fund Data or use commercially reasonable efforts to render Fund Data on such physical media unintelligible if such media or mobile device is no longer intended to be used. All backup tapes that are not destroyed must meet the level of protection described in this Security Schedule until destroyed or rendered irretrievable.

State Street must develop and document information destruction processes that meet industry standards and must be used in all cases when Client Data is no longer needed. State Street shall keep records of all Client Data destruction completed and provide such records to Client upon demand or provide a certification that all such information has been destroyed in accordance with this Security Addendum.

Appropriate procedures and measures to destroy (subject to applicable record retention requirements) removable media containing Personal Data when no longer used or, alternatively, to render Personal Data on such removable media unintelligible and not capable of reconstruction by any technical means before re-use of such removable media is allowed.

Service Provider shall destroy removable media and any mobile device (such as discs, USB drives, DVDs, back-up tapes, printers, laptops and tablets) containing Data Exporter Personal Data or render Data Exporter Personal Data on such physical media unintelligible and not capable of reconstruction by any technical means prior to any reuse of the media, if such media or mobile device is no longer intended to be used.
Media Destruction. State Street shall destroy Fund Data or use commercially reasonable efforts to render Fund Data on media irretrievable: (i) if such media is no longer used; or (ii) subject to any exceptions set forth herein or in any other applicable written agreement between State Street and the Funds, upon termination of the Existing Agreement. All backup tapes that are not destroyed must meet the level of protection described in this Exhibit A until destroyed.
Media Destruction. Before permanently discarding or disposing of storage media that (1) Manufacturer has physical access to or control of (e.g., laptop hard drives, desktop hard drives, USB or “thumb” drives, backup media, hard drives used in the Manufacturer’s own data center, or other portable storage media) and (2) contains, or has at any time contained, Amazon Confidential Information, Manufacturer will destroy the storage media using a technique designed to render the media unusable and the data unrecoverable (e.g., disintegration, incineration, pulverizing, shredding, and melting). This section shall not apply to storage media that Manufacturer does not have physical access to or control of, such as storage media used in a public cloud or other third-party environment. In such cases, Manufacturer shall ensure that all Amazon Confidential Information stored in the third-party environment is securely deleted when no longer needed using an industry-accepted practice (see Section 5.4, Deletion standard).
