Mechanics Tool Allowance. 35.1 In order to offset the cost of tool replacement, Class "A" automotive mechanics and apprentice mechanics shall be provided with an annual allowance of eight hundred dollars ($800.00). Such allowance shall be paid on or about December 1st of each year, based upon sixty-six dollars and sixty-six cents ($66.66) per month.
Mechanics Tool Allowance. The Company agrees to provide a tool allowance for worn or broken tools of six-hundred dollars ($600.00) per year for employees in the mechanic classification. Payment will be made on the first pay period in June each year on a separate cheque. The employee shall turn in such worn or broken tools for replacement. Replacement tools shall be of equal quality. Receipts are not required.
Mechanics Tool Allowance. Employees regularly assigned to the following positions shall be eligible for annual tool allowances to compensate for the wear and loss of their personal mechanic’s tools incurred in the performance of their job duties: Equipment Mechanic: $400 Equipment Mechanic II: $400 Facilities Maintenance Mechanic: $400 Building Maintainer: $150

In addition to the annual tool allowance, Mechanics may submit receipts for reimbursement of tools up to an additional $300, for a total allowance of $600 per fiscal year between the annual allowance and reimbursed amount. Reimbursement requests shall be submitted through the City’s normal warrant request process with receipts attached to the warrant request to substantiate the reimbursement.
Mechanics Tool Allowance. During each year of this Agreement, A, B and C mechanics will receive, on their anniversary of employment a tool allowance of up to $300 provided the mechanic shows proof of purchase.

The Commission will insure the mechanic's tools in the event of a catastrophic loss, exceeding the commission's $1,000 per occurrence deductible. Each mechanic must provide a list of tools and their value by January 1st of each year, to be checked by the Fleet Manager. Mechanics should inform the Fleet Manager in writing if they obtain a substantial amount of new tools during the year. Mechanics Tool Allowance. Mechanics 1Nh0establish to the Division Head that they possess and use, in the course of their employment, tools having a value of at least three hundred dollars ($300.00) at current replacement cost will be given reimbursement for new tools purchased by them, on a semi-annual basis, on January 1, and July 1, of each year, of up to one hundred twenty five dollars ($125.00) for each six (6) month period ending with the semi-annual reimbursement date, payable upon presentation of receipts dated within the reimbursement period. The Division Head may verify at any time that the mechanic possesses the tools purchased by him/her and the total value of all their tools.
