MECHANICAL COUPLERS. A. Mechanical couplers shall be provided where indicated and where approved by the ENGINEER. Couplers shall develop a tensile strength that exceeds 125 percent of the yield strength of the reinforcing bars being spliced at each splice.
MECHANICAL COUPLERS. Mechanical couplers shall be Type 2 and shall be capable of developing 125% of the specified yield strength and the ultimate tensile strength of the reinforcing bar.
