Common use of Meals and Breaks Clause in Contracts

Meals and Breaks. All employees shall have one (1) unpaid meal period at the approximate midpoint of each work shift of five (5) hours or more and two (2) paid rest periods of fifteen (15) minutes each, one (1) in each half of a full-time shift. An employee who normally receives a one half (½) hour meal period may request a one (1) hour meal period or vice versa. Employees may not forego a meal period to curtail the length of their working day.
