Meal Hours. An employee shall be entitled to an unpaid meal break of not less than 30 minutes and not more than one hour each day. No employee shall be required to work for more than five consecutive hours without a meal break. Provided that if any employee is required to work during his/her meal break he/her shall be paid at the rate of time and a half until a meal break is taken. Provided also that if the continuance of work is reasonably necessary and could not have been avoided by any reasonable action of the employer, the employer shall be allowed time not exceeding 20 minutes before such penalty rate begins to accrue.
