Mandatory Overtime. a. Mandatory Overtime is overtime that an employee is assigned and required to work involuntarily, and will only be required in operational emergencies when sufficient voluntary overtime cannot be secured to maintain the Company’s operation. Mandatory Overtime. a. Mandatory Overtime If there are no volunteers for overtime or in an emergency, staff can be assigned from the mandatory (bucket) overtime list to fill the shift. Before assigning mandatory overtime, a good faith effort must be made and documented by management, to fill overtime assignment through voluntary means. Mandatory Overtime. a. Mandatory Overtime It is understood that overtime that an employee is assigned and required to work involuntarily, and will only may be required mandated if in operational emergencies when sufficient voluntary overtime cannot be secured to maintain the Company’s operationaccordance with State law. Mandatory overtime will only be limited used as a last resort for unforeseen circumstances, when the need for overtime was not known previous to the number shift on which the affected employee was working, and only after a comprehensive search for volunteers. Mandatory overtime is best described as “occurring suddenly without previous notice”. When mandatory overtime is assigned to an employee, the employee will be given consideration to leave work to adjust a hardship, previously indicated to the supervisor. The employee will return as soon as the condition is taken care of employees and hours required to ordinarily within one (1) hour. In the interim period, the next junior employee would cover the emergency as determined by local management.
b. absence. Understaffing will not be the cause of mandatory overtime and when said condition occurs, the Hospital will review the current level of staffing, and hire new employees, if appropriate. Mandatory overtime is satisfied by requiring the least senior qualified employee to remain on duty after all other attempts heretofore have failed. The department will not exceed 4 hours past an employee’s scheduled shift in any 24 hour periodnotify the employee about the impending mandatory overtime as soon as the need is realized. Employees will not be required mandated to work more than 8 hours provided that:
a) The wheels currently in use to assign mandatory overtime until will continue to be maintained for the opportunity purpose of assigning mandatory overtime. d. Every attempt will be made sought. Employees who volunteer to notify employees on duty work more than two (2) consecutive hours of mandatory overtime at least 1 hour in advance. If 1 hour’s advance notice is not provided, the employee will receive 1 ½ hours’ pay as a penalty in addition immediately prior to the pay earned for any mandatory overtime hours actually worked.
e. Employees will not be assigned mandatory overtime during their vacation periods. For this purpose, beginning of or immediately following the vacation period is defined as the period beginning 24 hours after the commencement end of the employee’s last regularly a scheduled work shift before the vacation commenced. An employee may be assigned to mandatory overtime on the last regularly assigned shift prior to a vacation or DAT day, but will be placed at the bottom of the wheel for the purpose of assigning mandatory overtime, and they will be exempted from mandatory overtime during the forty-eight (48) hours following the conclusion of the shift. If mandatory overtime is required during that forty-eight (48) hour period, the Hospital will bypass the employee who volunteered and assign the mandatory overtime to the next employee on the applicable overtime list. When more than one (1) qualified employee works overtime, either voluntary or mandatory, employees will be assigned to their work unit if a staffing need exists as determined by management.
f. If b) With the exception of hours worked by employees while on call, no employee shall be required to work more than two (2) hours of overtime more than once in any mandatory 30-day rolling period nor more than eight (8) times in a calendar year.
c) No employee shall be required to work overtime causes the day before a rest period violation to occurscheduled vacation or holiday off. Henceforth, every attempt appropriately submitted requests for single vacation days off will be made to adjust the employee’s shift to provide the minimum 8 hours resthonored.

The compensatory time, which may be taken at a time mutually agreeable to the Hospital and the employee, will be accrued in a compensatory time bank. The unused compensatory time, as of December 1 of each year, shall be paid to the employee at the applicable straight time base hourly rate in effect for the employee at that time. The Business Agent shall be provided with both a report and employee checks by December 10th. Distribution of pay but the checks will be managed by the Business Agent. C.13.5 For purposes of this provision, overtime assignment is any assignment (whether voluntary or mandatory) of four or more hours in excess of the employee’s regular work schedule (regardless of whether leave is scheduled to be used by the employee for a regular work schedule shift).
C.13.6 An employee who volunteers for overtime will not be held for mandatory overtime on the next shift.
C.13.7 For purposes of this provision, overtime shall mean 4 or more hours. The employer will not unreasonably work employees on mandatory overtime of less than four (4) hours in order to avoid the provisions of this section.
C.13.8 No employee required to work overtime shall be required to return to work without first being granted at least seven and one-half (7 1/2) hours time off between the last hour worked during their vacation periodsovertime and the first hour worked upon return, unless the employee agrees to return sooner or if emergency conditions exist. Mandatory Overtime. a. Mandatory Overtime. a. The following provisions shall apply to the assignment of mandatory overtime for Sergeants:
(a) Mandatory Overtime is overtime that shall be used to ensure one official Sergeant per shift. However, under situations identified by the Chief of Police, additional Sergeants may be subject to mandatory overtime. During times of emergency, mandatory overtime may be administered with less than 24 hours' notice.

Mandatory Overtime. a. Mandatory Overtime. a. 1) As per PA Act 125, 24 hour shift employees can only be mandated to work the middle two (2) days of their four (4) day off. All employees working 8 hour shift positions can only be mandated to work 24 hour shift work on the last regularly assigned six (6) days not covered by a 24 hour shift employee during the twelve (12) day cycle.
2) No employee who is scheduled to be off on pre-approved leave time when the mandatory overtime assignment is to occur shall be ordered to work the mandatory overtime assignment, provided that the time off was scheduled at least two weeks prior to when the mandatory overtime assignment is to occur.
3) If the mandatory overtime assignment requires that the person working it be an officer (i.e., Captain or Lieutenant), Paramedic, or Airport Rescue Fire Fighter (ARFF), then the least senior person on the list having that qualification shall be ordered to work the mandatory overtime assignment.
4) Mandatory overtime hours worked shall be included in total overtime worked annually for purposes of voluntary overtime distribution.
5) All reasonable efforts shall be promptly made to contact the person due under the list for the mandatory overtime assignment, by telephone and otherwise. In the event that person cannot be contacted in sufficient time before the mandatory overtime assignment must be filled, then the next employee on the list be contacted.
6) If a vacation or DAT daynew hire starts in the middle of a calendar year, but they will be placed at the bottom top of the list after successful completion of their probationary period.
7) As much advance notice of the mandatory overtime listassignment will be given as possible.

Mandatory Overtime. a. Mandatory Overtime If production needs warrant, the Employer may utilize up to twenty-six (26) hours of mandatory overtime per month. If overtime is required, the Employer will first seek volunteers in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. If the Employer does not find a sufficient number of volunteers, employees may be mandated in the inverse order of seniority until a sufficient number has been achieved. If daily overtime that an employee is assigned and required to work involuntarilyscheduled, and then cancelled by the Employer, the hours scheduled will only be required in operational emergencies when sufficient voluntary count towards the twenty-six (26) hours of overtime cannot be secured to maintain the Company’s operationper month. Mandatory Overtime. a. The following provisions shall apply to the assignment of mandatory overtime for Sergeants:
(a) Mandatory Overtime is overtime that shall be used to ensure one official sergeant per shift. However, under situations identified by the Chief of Police, additional sergeants may be subject to mandatory overtime. During times of emergency, mandatory overtime may be administered with less than 24 hours’ notice.

f. If any mandatory overtime causes (j) There shall be a minimum of eight (8) hours of rest period violation to occur, every attempt will be made to adjust the employee’s shift to provide the minimum 8 hours restbetween shifts.
g. All mandatory overtime hours will be paid at the applicable rate of pay but not less than the time and one half (1.5X) rate of pay regardless of work status or hours worked. If an employee is required to work mandatory overtime on two or more consecutive days, the minimum payment for all mandatory overtime hours worked will be at the double-time (2X) rate of pay.
