Common use of Mandatory equipment Clause in Contracts

Mandatory equipment. a) Employee(s) will be provided, on commencement of employment, with a safety helmet, safety gloves and eye protection/safety glasses that meet Australian Standards. b) The safety helmet and other items of personal protective equipment and clothing provided must be worn at all times as instructed during the site induction process. c) Employees will always be required to wear such clothing or equipment as directed and/or required by the Company. Any breach of this provision will give rise to disciplinary action. Disciplinary action taken under this clause may include oral or written warnings, suspension without pay of up to one week and termination of employment. d) Safety footwear will be supplied as soon as practicable upon the commencement of employment. Damaged and/or worn footwear and/or helmets will be replaced on a fair wear and tear basis, provided they are produced to the Company for inspection.
