Loss or Damage to Personal Property. The Board shall reimburse a teacher for loss, damage or destruction of their own personal property used in the course of provided instruction while on duty for the school. This obligation shall extend to loss, damage or destruction of a teacher’s personal property while left unattended in any automobile parked in the designated parking area on the school premises, provided such automobile is equipped with a fully enclosed body, the property was left in a locked enclosure out of view unless prior approval is obtained otherwise, and the loss is a direct result of forcible entry into the fully enclosed body, the doors and window of which shall have been securely locked. Damage to a teacher’s automobile due to vandalism or malicious acts related to employment while the automobile is parked in a designated parking area on the school premises, shall be covered under the limits of this provision. This obligation shall not encompass wear, tear or gradual deterioration of property or loss of money. The Board shall be obligated to pay for such loss, damage or destruction in an amount greater than twenty−five dollars ($25.00) but not to exceed two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) This obligation shall extend only to (that portion of) any such loss not covered by insurance taken out by the teacher and shall be payable only after the teacher has first exhausted all possibility of collecting for such loss either under the teacher’s own insurance, or from the person involved, if any. Written report of the loss shall be submitted to the building principal within forty−eight (48) hours of the time sustaining such loss, weekends and holiday excepted. The written report shall provide sufficient evidence to support the proof of loss. In cases of damage, theft or vandalism a police report must be filed and the teacher must cooperate with the authorities and the Board in any investigation, prosecution or action to determine the person responsible and obtain recovery. No reimbursement for items under $25.00 will occur. Vehicle must be repaired and proof of completion (i.e. invoice) provided to district prior to compensation.

At times, a Facilities Services staff member may enter the room when students are not home. In these instances, a maintenance note is left behind indicated what service was performed. In the case of an emergency, Community Coordinators, Community Advisors, and Campus Safety can contact Facilities Services. Special Interest Housing agreement (Quiet or Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco-Free) Students who live in Special Interest Housing (SIH) agree to make a positive personal commitment to maintain the SIH community norms and values as established by Xxxxxxx University. Students who live in any SIH environment will be asked to sign an Agreement of Understanding at the time of room selection (returning students) or check-in (first-year students). Failure to abide by the SIH Agreement could result in reassignment and conduct action. Quiet Housing: By securing housing in a Quiet Building, I agree to the following: * To abide by established quiet hours, which are always in effect except Sunday-Thursday 6-10pm and Friday-Saturday 6pm-1am (specified hours are still courtesy hours). * To ensure that my guests abide by and uphold the quiet and courtesy hours established for the community. * To confront persons violating community norms and report incidents to Residential Communities staff members. Loss or Damage to Personal Property. A teacher who suffers damage to his/her clothing (including eyeglasses) and/or to his/her automobile, if such damage occurs during the performance of his/her duties and where such damage is in no way attributed to or occasioned by the negligence of the affected teacher, shall be reimbursed in the full amount of uninsured losses not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00). Claims for reimbursement shall be submitted within ninety (90) days of the occurrence with all losses fully documented.
