Current policies with respect to the library shall continue in full force and effect until changed by the Board. In addition, libraries are subject to general State laws with respect to libraries, including the provisions of Education Code Section 19146 which vests power to select materials in the Librarian.
Library Policies. 1. Borrowing books from the library is free. There is no charge for checking out books unless a title is lost or damaged.
Library Policies. For the comfort and safety of all user and safety of all users and staff of the Grande Prairie Public Library (GPPL), the following rules must be respected. Violation of any of these rules may result in suspension or restriction of library privileges, including banning from library premises. Criminal offences may result in prosecution. Animals  Only registered assistance animals are allowed in GPPL. Phones and other devicesPersonal electronic devices must be used in a manner that does not disturb others. Disruptive behavior and language  Behavior that interferes with any person’s comfort or use of GPPL is not allowed.  Threatening, abusive, harassing language or behavior toward staff or other users is not allowed.  No person shall distribute or post materials without permission from GPPL staff.  No person shall traffic in, consume, or appear to be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs and substances. Food and drinkNo food or drink is permitted in the Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxx Room or when operating GPPL’s computer equipment or other devices.  Only beverages with a lid are permitted in the remainder of the building. Furniture use  Sleeping is not allowed.  Feet must not be placed on the furniture. Public Internet useUse of the Internet for criminal activity is not allowed. Smoking or vaping is not allowed.
Library Policies. All books are available to be checked out for two weeks at a time. All videos are available to be checked out for one week at a time. All Library Materials must be checked out by Xxxxx Xxxx or the LGBT Student Services Program Student Assistant. Patrons who check out books to themselves will have their library privileges revoked for one month. Patrons may renew library materials up to three times unless someone else has requested the book. Patrons may put books currently checked-out on hold. Patrons will be contacted immediately after the item has been returned. If library materials are not returned 90 days after the due date or before the end of the semester, the student’s name will be expected to pay the cost of said item and if not the issue will be forwarded on to Student Conduct. Community patrons who fail to pay for library materials will have their library privileges revoked permanently. Patrons will be suspended from checking out library materials for the remainder of the current semester and also the following semester if materials are over one month overdue. Damaged book/video: the patron is responsible for the full replacement cost. The patron agrees upon this when the patron signs the checkout sheet. I have read and agreed to the policies stated above. I also agree to be responsible for returning the materials on time. Finally, I agree to be responsible for replacing any lost, damaged, or unreturned items. Signature Date Note: This letter serves as a “library card” and will remain on file at LGBTQ Student Services. Note: Use of this Library is only semi -confidential. Xxxxx Xxxx and the current student LGBTQ Student Services Program Assistant will have access to the check out list.
