Leave for Victims of Domestic Violence. An Employee who has been employed by the Employer for a period of at least three (3) consecutive months is entitled to an unpaid leave of absence if the Employee or a child of the Employee experiences domestic violence in accordance with the Labour Standards Code.

Leave for Victims of Domestic Violence. The Employer agrees to recognize that employees sometimes face situations of violence or abuse in their personal life that may affect their attendance or performance at work. For that reason, the Employer and the Union agree once there is verification confirmed by a written note by a recognized professional (i.e. doctor, lawyer, registered counselor, intake worker from a shelter or other crisis service etc.), an employee who is in an abusive or violent situation will not be subject to discipline if their absence or performance can be linked to the abusive or violent situation. Time necessary to facilitate a leave for victims of domestic violence shall be as per the Manitoba Employment Standards Code; employees shall take from their accumulated sick leave credits first, if no credits available other banks may be utilized.

Approval will be dependent upon (a) whether absence will create an undue hardship for the City; (b) whether leave is requested within a reasonable time, and (c) whether the requested leave is impractical, unreasonable, or unnecessary given the facts made available to the City at the time of the request. If leave is approved, the employee will be required to first use any accrued paid vacation, and if applicable, sick time before taking unpaid leave. The employee will not be discriminated against for taking or asking for leave.
Leave for Victims of Domestic Violence. 11.18.1 Unit members requesting leave of absence as a victim of domestic violence under Labor Code 230 shall give their supervisor reasonable notice before such leave is taken, unless advance notice is not feasible. (Labor Code section 230(d).) Unit members requesting such leave shall make their best efforts to provide their supervisor no less than three (3) school days' notice of such leave.

  • Domestic Violence 29.01 The Employer and the Union agree that all Employees have the right to be free from domestic violence. Domestic violence, which may involve physical or psychological violence, stalking or economic abuse against a current or former intimate partner, is a widespread societal problem which must be prevented.

For purposes of this Contract, a person or affiliate who is on the Convicted Vendor List, the Discriminatory Vendor List, or the Antitrust Violator Vendor List may not perform work as a contractor, supplier, subcontractor, or consultant under the Contract. The Contractor must notify the Department if it or any of its suppliers, subcontractors, or consultants have been placed on the Convicted Vendor List, the Discriminatory Vendor List, or the Antitrust Violator Vendor List during the term of the Contract. In accordance with section 287.1351, F.S., a vendor placed on the Suspended Vendor List may not enter into or renew a contract to provide any goods or services to an agency after its placement on the Suspended Vendor List. A firm or individual placed on the Suspended Vendor List pursuant to section 287.1351, F.S., the Convicted Vendor List pursuant to section 287.133, F.S., the Antitrust Violator Vendor List pursuant to section 287.137, F.S., or the Discriminatory Vendor List pursuant to section 287.134, F.S., is immediately disqualified from Contract eligibility.

  • Acts of Terrorism Exclusion With respect to each Mortgage Loan over $20 million, and to Seller’s knowledge with respect to each Mortgage Loan of $20 million or Exh. C-11 less, as of origination, the related special-form all-risk insurance policy and business interruption policy (issued by an insurer meeting the Insurance Rating Requirements) do not specifically exclude Acts of Terrorism, as defined in the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act of 2002, as amended by the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2007 and the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2015 (collectively referred to as “TRIA”), from coverage, or if such coverage is excluded, it is covered by a separate terrorism insurance policy. With respect to each Mortgage Loan, the related Mortgage Loan documents do not expressly waive or prohibit the Mortgagee from requiring coverage for Acts of Terrorism, as defined in TRIA, or damages related thereto except to the extent that any right to require such coverage may be limited by commercial availability on commercially reasonable terms; provided that if TRIA or a similar or subsequent statute is not in effect, then, provided that terrorism insurance is commercially available, the Mortgagor under each Mortgage Loan is required to carry terrorism insurance, but in such event the Mortgagor shall not be required to spend on terrorism insurance coverage more than two times the amount of the insurance premium that is payable in respect of the property and business interruption/rental loss insurance required under the related Mortgage Loan documents (without giving effect to the cost of terrorism and earthquake components of such casualty and business interruption/rental loss insurance) at the time of the origination of the Mortgage Loan, and if the cost of terrorism insurance exceeds such amount, the Mortgagor is required to purchase the maximum amount of terrorism insurance available with funds equal to such amount.

  • Medical Leave of Absence Where you have a medical leave of absence due to any medically determinable physical or mental impairment that can be expected to result in death or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than six months, and you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, a Separation from Service has occurred on the earlier of: (A) the first day on which you would not be considered “disabled” under any disability policy of the Company or Affiliate under which you are then receiving a benefit; or (B) the first day on which your medical leave of absence period exceeds 29 months.
