Common use of Leave for Court Appearances Clause in Contracts

Leave for Court Appearances. (a) The Employer shall grant paid leave to employees, other than employees on leave without pay, who serve as jurors or witnesses in a court action, to a maximum of two weeks, provided such court action is not occasioned by the employee's private affairs. If the court action extends beyond two weeks, the employee will still continue to accrue seniority, vacation entitlement and receive benefits as if they were at work.
