LEASE AGREEMENT TERMS. While BRT is free to utilize its own form(s) to secure rentals of advertising space on the marquee signs, any such forms must comply with the terms and conditions contained within HEPD’s internal agreement for marquee sign advertising. HEPD will make every reasonable effort to ensure BRT has a copy of the current HEPD agreement, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit A.
LEASE AGREEMENT TERMS. The term of the lease would be for approximately two years commencing on the October 1, 2020 and ending on September 30, 2022 (Attachment A). Tenant may request an extension of the Term for up to 12 additional months, and the County may, at the County’s sole and absolute discretion, allow such extension. SUSTAINABILITY IMPLICATIONS The recommended action supports the Board of Supervisors’ sustainability objective to enhance social equity and safety by improving neighborhood access to education, health service, housing and food, as it increases the number of transitional housing opportunities and support services available in the County. BACKGROUND Property Acquisition On January 14, 2020 (Item No. 52), the Board adopted Resolution BOS-2020-1, approving the acquisition of the Property. The Board’s intent of the resolution was to use the existing motel units for interim housing, transitional housing, or temporary shelter for approximately two years while entitlements and financing for an affordable housing project were being sought. The County acquired Property on March 13, 2020 and concurrently executed an Option Agreement with Charities Development Housing Corporation of Santa Xxxxx County (“Charities”) for the potential development of the Property. The Property consists of a 31-room motel building containing 12,150 square feet. Covenant House is proposing to use 24 of the rooms for program participants.
