Journeyman Electrician. Shall perform all electrical work with regard to installation, alteration, repair, maintenance, metering or testing of all electrical equipment within the scope or bounds of the City Utility System. Substation maintenance work, involving the filtering of transformer oil will also be done by the Electrician. The Electrician shall perform all work described as the Inside Jurisdiction of the IBEW Constitution, including City buildings and properties under the direct administration and control of the City Council, subject to the provisions of Article 1.08 of this Agreement.

Journeyman Electrician. Description: Must demonstrate good skill managing the electrical systems in the operation. Ability to install, repair and troubleshoot all electrical systems in the operation. Effectively communicate with maintenance personnel, machine operators and supervisors to safely and efficiently perform electrical maintenance duties, reactive & preventative. Minimum Requirements: Oregon Plant Journeyman electrical license. Demonstrate good knowledge in electrical troubleshooting. Journeyman Electrician.  Works without direction in ensuring the Plant(s) is functional and operational on a day-to-day basis.  Responsible for repair and maintenance of Plant and Office electrical systems and repairs, including adding new electrical outlets, wiring, etc.  Must be a certified Electrician within the Province of Alberta.  Performs other related job responsibilities as required. Field Service Technician:  Works without direction to most complicated drawings, sketches, layout boards, etc., and/or verbal instructions.  Installs, assembles or repairs any major or minor sub-assemblies in any type of vehicle or rig.  Repairs components to quality required and acceptable performance.  Expected to travel offsite, coordinate with customers and/or contractors to troubleshoot and repair any electrical, mechanical or hydraulic failure, which may occur at anytime, day or night.  Assists less experienced personnel with work methods, work habits and performance.  Should be a qualified licensed tradesman in the Province of Alberta.  Must have a complete line of tools necessary for all phases of mechanical and electronic assembly or repair.  Performs other tasks related to his/her classification. Charge Hand:  Works directly with the Xxxxxxx/Manager in the day-to-day planning and operation of their assigned Department.  Assists the Xxxxxxx/Manager in achieving results in Safety, Quality, Schedule and Cost.  Works without direction to most complicated drawings, sketches, layout boards, etc., and/or verbal instructions, to serve as a working example to Employees in the groups to which they are assigned.  Responsible for training less experienced personnel in work methods, work habits and performance.  Directs the work of individuals assigned to their group, to maintain efficiency and meet schedule requirements.  Responsible for the quality and quantity produced by their group.  Responsible to bring to the attention of the Xxxxxxx/Manager, all performance issues which may lead to disciplinary action.  May be required to interface with customers, vendors or contractors.  Performs other tasks related to his/her classification.   • Journeyman GROUP I: All applicants for employment who have three and one-half (3½) or more years of experience in the trade, are residents of the geographical area constituting the normal construction labor market, have passed a Journeyman's examination given by a duly constituted Outside Local Union of the I.B.E.W., and who have been employed for a period of at least one (1) year in the last three and one-half (3½) years in the geographical area covered by the collective bargaining agreement.

  • Apprentices and trainees a. Apprentices (programs of the USDOL). Apprentices will be permitted to work at less than the predetermined rate for the work they performed when they are employed pursuant to and individually registered in a bona fide apprenticeship program registered with the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration, Office of Apprenticeship Training, Employer and Labor Services, or with a State Apprenticeship Agency recognized by the Office, or if a person is employed in his or her first 90 days of probationary employment as an apprentice in such an apprenticeship program, who is not individually registered in the program, but who has been certified by the Office of Apprenticeship Training, Employer and Labor Services or a State Apprenticeship Agency (where appropriate) to be eligible for probationary employment as an apprentice. The allowable ratio of apprentices to journeymen on the job site in any craft classification shall not be greater than the ratio permitted to the contractor as to the entire work force under the registered program. Any worker listed on a payroll at an apprentice wage rate, who is not registered or otherwise employed as stated above, shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the classification of work actually performed. In addition, any apprentice performing work on the job site in excess of the ratio permitted under the registered program shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the work actually performed. Where a contractor is performing construction on a project in a locality other than that in which its program is registered, the ratios and wage rates (expressed in percentages of the journeyman's hourly rate) specified in the contractor's or subcontractor's registered program shall be observed. Every apprentice must be paid at not less than the rate specified in the registered program for the apprentice's level of progress, expressed as a percentage of the journeymen hourly rate specified in the applicable wage determination. Apprentices shall be paid fringe benefits in accordance with the provisions of the apprenticeship program. If the apprenticeship program does not specify fringe benefits, apprentices must be paid the full amount of fringe benefits listed on the wage determination for the applicable classification. If the Administrator determines that a different practice prevails for the applicable apprentice classification, fringes shall be paid in accordance with that determination. In the event the Office of Apprenticeship Training, Employer and Labor Services, or a State Apprenticeship Agency recognized by the Office, withdraws approval of an apprenticeship program, the contractor will no longer be permitted to utilize apprentices at less than the applicable predetermined rate for the work performed until an acceptable program is approved.

  • Overtime Meals When employees are required to work more than two (2) hours beyond their regular work days, the Employer will provide hot meals at no cost to the employees, up to a maximum of sixteen dollars ($16.00) (receipts to be submitted) plus paid meal periods of one-half (1/2) hour at the prevailing rate and thereafter at four (4) hour intervals. Any early morning start before regular starting time is entitled to a paid meal. The breakfast limit is thirteen dollars ($13.00) (receipts to be submitted).   • Employment and Training Administration The ratio of trainees to journeymen on the job site shall not be greater than permitted under the plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration. Every trainee must be paid at not less than the rate specified in the approved program for the trainee's level of progress, expressed as a percentage of the journeyman hourly rate specified in the applicable wage determination. Trainees shall be paid fringe benefits in accordance with the provisions of the trainee program. If the trainee program does not mention fringe benefits, trainees shall be paid the full amount of fringe benefits listed on the wage determination unless the Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division determines that there is an apprenticeship program associated with the corresponding journeyman wage rate on the wage determination which provides for less than full fringe benefits for apprentices. Any employee listed on the payroll at a trainee rate who is not registered and participating in a training plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the classification of work actually performed. In addition, any trainee performing work on the job site in excess of the ratio permitted under the registered program shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the work actually performed. In the event the Employment and Training Administration withdraws approval of a training program, the contractor will no longer be permitted to utilize trainees at less than the applicable predetermined rate for the work performed until an acceptable program is approved.
