Job Opportunity. (a) Substitute/casual work assignments anticipated to be two (2) calendar months or less shall be filled from the substitute/casual employee list on a rotating basis by assignment subject to qualifications, IEP recommendations and availability, and in accordance with article 32.02 (b) Part-time employees on the list shall receive preference over substitute/casual employees for substitute/casual assignments at their own work location on a seniority basis subject to qualifications and availability (provided the requirements of the appointment are met).

Job Opportunity. The Company is prepared to institute a job and shift assignment selection process within its Windsor facilities on three (3) occasions during the term of the Collective Agreement. The first selection process shall commence within thirty (30) days after the effective ratification date of the existing Collective Agreement with the second and third process selections being conducted in October of each year. The Company will canvass bargaining unit employees by order of seniority within the classification as to their job and shift assignment preferences. The Company reserves the right to implement the above provisions on a gradual basis so as not to disrupt the operating efficiency of the facilities. The Company and union agree it is a requirement that all stationary engineers are kept current and competent to perform all positions at the plant. The company will from time to time implement a temporary assignment rotation for the purpose of training and skills development. Temporary assignments will not exceed fourteen (14) working days without mutual agreement. The parties hereby agree and acknowledge that this letter is not part of the Collective Agreement nor shall the terms of this letter be precedent-setting for any future negotiations.

All Package Persons and General Labour jobs shall not be posted. The positions of Package Line Utility, Manufacturing Utility, Milling Utility and Permanent Floor Leader will be posted when vacancies arise, however, to fill these positions, skill, ability, reliability, adaptability, efficiency, initiative, conduct and physical fitness of the employees shall be the governing factors and where these things are equal, plant-wide seniority will be the governing factor. On an overall assessment of these qualifications a junior employee must be better qualified to be selected over the senior employee. The parties agree in the basic principle that seniority and performance will be the key considerations when consid- ering opportunities for advancement. In cases of promo- tion, demotion, upgrading or transfers of employees, the skill, ability, reliability, performance and conduct shall be the governing factors and where these are equal, wide seniority will be the governing factor. Interviews with candidates for job will be con- ducted on the basis of plant seniority. The successful bidder’s name for each job posting will be posted on the bulletin board. The Chief Xxxxxxx will receive a copy of a list of employ- ees in Job Classifications, to be revised and sent out every six month, commencing January of each year.
Job Opportunity. It is agreed and understood that permanent full-time or part-time employees applying for a temporary position of less than six (6) months must have the approval of their immediate Program Manager. The parties agree that such approval will not be unreasonably denied. Where a permanent employee is the successful applicant for a temporary position she will be advised of the termination date, if known, and will be afforded all rights under the Collective Agreement. Any extension to this time will only be by mutual agreement between the Employer and the Association. At the completion of the term of replacement, the Nurse will be reinstated to her former or a comparable position. The Employer shall only be required to post one (1) additional vacancy after the initial posting for the original temporary vacancy.

All job and promotional opportunities and job openings shall be conspicuously posted in all Departments for fifteen (15) calendar days on bulletin boards readily accessible to all employees within the county, prior to the examination or the filling of the positions, except where a civil service eligible list exists containing the names of three (3) or more candidates or for the filing of positions on a temporary basis. Temporary positions above entry level, where the appointment is for more than ninety (90) days, shall be posted and filled pursuant to Article IV, Section H(1) and (2).
