Interior Noise Sample Clauses
The Interior Noise clause sets standards or limits for acceptable noise levels within the interior spaces of a building or vehicle. It typically specifies maximum decibel levels or other measurable criteria that must not be exceeded during normal operation or occupancy. For example, it may require that noise from mechanical systems, equipment, or external sources remains below a certain threshold to ensure comfort for occupants. This clause's core function is to ensure a comfortable and usable environment by minimizing disruptive or harmful noise, thereby addressing concerns related to occupant well-being and satisfaction.
Interior Noise. 5.2.1 Interior Noise in Flight
Interior Noise. The combination of inner and outer panels and any material used between them shall provide sufficient sound insulation so that a sound source with a level of 80 dBA measured at the outside skin of the Trolley shall have a sound level of 68 dBA or less at any point inside the Trolley. These conditions shall prevail with all openings, including doors and windows, closed and with the engine and accessories switched off. The Trolley generated noise level experienced by a passenger at any seat location in the Trolley shall not exceed 83 dBA and the operator shall not experience a noise level of more than 78 dBA under the following test conditions. The vehicle shall be empty except for test personnel, not to exceed four persons, and the test equipment. All openings shall be closed and all accessories shall be operating during the test. The vehicle shall accelerate at full throttle from a standstill to 35 mph on level commercial asphalt or concrete pavement in an area free of large reflecting surfaces within 50 feet of the vehicle path. During the test, the ambient noise level in the test area shall be at least 10 dBA lower than the vehicle under test. Instrumentation and other general requirements shall conform to SAE Standard J366. If the noise contains an audible discrete frequency as defined in Section 5.1.2, a penalty of 5 dBA shall be added to the sound level measured.
