Initial Placement on the Salary Schedule. Academic Credits New teachers will provide Human Resources with a set of accurate transcripts of college courses as signed and certified by the training institutions. The Superintendent will evaluate such transcripts and place the teacher on the salary schedule according to the procedures and standards for placement as applied to existing staff. It is the responsibility of certificated employees to provide documentation of prior experience and /or academic credits. Failure of a new employee to do so by September 10th shall result in the teacher being placed on step one / column one for the September pay period. Final determination of placement on the salary schedule for the school year shall be based upon documentation received no later than October 15th. Such adjustments will be retroactive to September 1. Extensions may be granted by the Superintendent for extenuating circumstances beyond the employee’s control.
