Informal care. 1 As an employer KPN aims to accommodate informal care. Informal care is unpaid care for sick or disabled family members or friends. More specifically, informal care is intensive care provided over a longer period of time, for more than eight hours per week and/or for longer than three months.

Employers are advised to take up their responsibility when receiving requests for flexible working and/or an adjustment of the working hours from workers with informal care responsibilities. Informal care leave forms part of the HR policy which means that employees can discuss informal care at company level. Agreements about informal care depend on the job and the circumstances concerned and they are therefore always made at an individual level, on a case by case basis. Employee representatives are informed at least once per year about agreements made with regard to informal care.

Nursing care is providing qualified-long term care services to the insured in a nursing care facility or assisted living facility, or providing maintenance or personal care services in an assisted living facility. 5.1 Content of the employment contract When you enter the service of your employer, you will receive written confirmation of this, stating: a the date the employment contract was entered into and the date employment commences; b the number of agreed working hours; c in case of a probationary period, the length thereof; d in case of a fixed term employment contract: that employment will cover a temporary period and the duration of employment, either by indicating the term or by specifying the terminable duties for which employment was entered into; e the job group in which your job is classified; f a brief job description; g the salary scale applicable to you; h when applicable, the job year assigned to you; i the individual job salary allocated to you; j admittance or non-admittance to the pension scheme; k whether you are bound to a non-competition clause and the content of this clause; l the applicability of this CLA and subsequent CLAs.

The pilot project in relation to informal care has highlighted the importance of promoting discussion of the issue of informal care in order to reach tailor-made agreements with respect to the combination of work and informal care. It was found that both employers and employees need to be better equipped to conduct this dialogue. The social partners have jointly decided to move ahead with the campaign proposed by the ROM’s working group on informal care in response to the pilot project. To promote sustainable employability in the sector, the social partners have decided to continue the following initiatives without changes for the duration of the collective agreement: Financially Fit, career coaches and training vouchers. In addition, agreements will be made on quality frameworks and evaluation.

An employee providing informal care can raise the matter of informal care with the employer, and the employer will take an active attitude towards the application of the collective labour agreement and the manner in which work and employment can be combined in such a way that the employee is unburdened.
