Common use of Independent Status Clause in Contracts

Independent Status. Contractor and its employees and agents, and subcontractors, in the performance of this Contract, shall act in an independent capacity and not as officers, employees or agents of CSU or the State of California. While Contractor may be required by this Contract to carry Worker’s Compensation Insurance, in no event shall Contractor and its employees and agents be entitled to unemployment or workers’ compensation benefits from CSU.
