In-Service Training. If the College requires an employee to participate in an in-service training program, the employee shall use release time for time spent in the training and travel time in excess of the employee’s regular commute time. An employee shall not normally be scheduled to work the shift immediately before or after the training. However, this scheduling shall be permitted if an employee volunteers for it or if the employee is assigned to a shift on an overtime basis to meet minimum staffing requirements.

In-Service Training. The Employer recognizes that it has the obligation to determine training needs. Training may take the form of either on-the-job or formalized training. The Employer will, with available funds, provide sufficient training, to enable Technical Unit employees to effectively deal with circumstances normally met on the job. Such obligation may be discussed in labor-management meetings. Where the Employer requires an employee to attend training, the Employer will either provide the training or pay for the training. Employees directed to attend job training shall do so as a job duty and the employee shall be in pay status while attending and traveling to/from such training. Expenses incurred by an employee while attending such training shall be reimbursed in accordance with the applicable travel regulations. In furnishing information to employees, handbooks, summaries and other suitable formats may be used.
In-Service Training. The Employer will provide for ongoing in-service training programs and continuing education designed to keep employees up to date on the equipment, processes and procedures and to aid development and maintenance of skills and professional practice, including changes in required certification and licensure.
In-Service Training. The County shall make every effort to provide a program of in-service training for employees in the bargaining unit designed to maintain a high standard of performance and to increase the skills of employees in the bargaining unit. Training courses to be attended shall have a direct bearing on the work of the employee. Attendance at training courses may be authorized by the department head. Decisions by department heads on requests by employees should be based on the following criteria: the effect the absence of the employee will have on the department’s operations and its ability to continue to provide the services and perform the functions for which it is responsible; the relationship of the subject of the program, seminar, conference or workshop to the function performed by the employee and the department, and the employee’s professional development; and the method of financing requested by the employee.
In-Service Training. The District may require an assigned Therapist, at his/her own expense, to attend training deemed by the District to be necessary for performing professional services.
In-Service Training. A permanent Unit Member may, upon application, concurrence of the Unit Member’s Department Head/Administrator, and approval of the Employer or his/her designee, attend courses of study of approved academic institutes and such other training programs as are designed to upgrade the classified service, and retrain a Unit Member who may otherwise be subject to a limitation of opportunities or layoff due to technological changes.
In-Service Training. 30.1 The School Trustees and the Association agree that a need for continuing emphasis on professional growth and in-service training for all professional staff exists within the District. Such professional growth and in-service training should be predicated toward the goal of: Insuring high professional and employee competency; encouraging employees toward the attainment of high, optimum individual self-realization; and the promotion of an alert and progressive educational spirit in the District. So as to attain these objectives, an In-Service Training Committee is hereby established. This committee shall consist of three (3) members appointed by the Association and three (3) members appointed by the School Trustees. The parties agree that one (1) member shall be chosen from the elementary, one (1) from the junior high school, and one (1) from the senior high school. The committee shall have the authority to appoint ad hoc committees as deemed necessary.

In-Service Training. Section 1: The Board shall cooperate with the State organizations in making workshops and other training sessions available to employees on a needs basis. The Superintendent shall expect all appropriate personnel to participate fully, unless specifically excused. The school district will meet all necessary expense of such training programs.
In-Service Training. The Association and the Employer recognize that Employees have an interest in maintaining an awareness of current teaching techniques, curriculum improvements, and other advances in the learning process. To this end, the Superintendent or his designee may schedule in-service training sessions during all or part of the regular Employee workday.

The JNC recognises that the requirement for training is likely to vary between particular employing organisations and from one time to another and that it may not be possible to specify any minimum entitlement to in-service training for youth and community workers. Employers should, therefore, advise workers on, and encourage them to undertake, relevant approved courses of study and training.
