Import Problems. There are several problems that can arise that will result in the import being aborted or in what appears to be an incomplete transfer of data. The causes and correction of these problems are discussed below. This indicates that WirePro was unable to recognize the contents of the .prn file. This can occur if the file was made in some way other than Excel such as with a word processor or by just renaming some file. In this situation WirePro ignores the file. If this occurs verify that the file you are trying import was created via Excel. The most common causes of this are; the syntax of one of the column headings is incorrect, the columns in the spreadsheet overlap or are too narrow or, there is bad data in one or more fields. Another less common cause is that the language of the column headings and the language selected under Setup do not agree. It is absolutely essential that the column headings exactly match those listed in Appendix B or the master templates. Verify that this is the case. If the spreadsheet columns are too narrow or the data overlaps the import of data beyond that point will fail. If the data entered into a cell is bad WirePro will replace it with default data.
