Immigration Proceedings. In the event an Employee is unable to meet employment obligations (e.g., lectures, recitations, labs, office hours, staff meetings, etc.) because he/she is compelled during working hours to participate in immigration proceedings for him/herself or for the Employee’s spouse or child (including step-child), such absence shall be with compensation for up to two (2) days of absence per semester or session. If compelled to participate in immigration proceedings during working hours, the Employee shall provide the immediate supervisor (or department or unit designee) with written verification from the involved governmental agency including times and dates relevant to the absence.
Immigration Proceedings. In the event a GE is compelled during work hours to participate in immigration proceedings on behalf of him/herself or on behalf of a family member or partner, the GE shall provide their supervisor with written verification from the involved government agency including time and dates relevant to the absence. Provided the GE abides by the provisions of this section and the absence is not greater than five

In the event a Graduate Assistant is unable to meet employment obligations because he or she is compelled during working hours to participate in immigration proceedings for herself or himself or for the Graduate Assistant’s spouse, child, or other eligible individual, such absence shall be with compensation for up to two (2) days (8 hours equivalency) of absence. If compelled to participate in immigration proceedings during working hours, the Graduate Assistant shall provide the immediate supervisor (or department or unit designee) with written verification from the involved governmental agency including times and dates relevant to the absence.
Immigration Proceedings. In the event an Employee is unable to meet employment obligations because the Employee is compelled during working hours to participate in immigration procedures, such an absence shall be without loss of compensation. In this connection, the Employee shall provide the University with written verification from the involved governmental agency, including times and dates relevant to the absence. In the event an individual with whom an Employee shares a close personal relationship is compelled to participate in immigration procedures related to their valid immigration status, the Employee may be released without loss of compensation, and such release will not be unreasonably denied. In the event an Employee is unable to meet employment obligations because the Employee is subpoenaed during working hours to participate in criminal proceedings such an absence shall be permitted without compensation. In this connection, the Employee shall provide the University with at least three (3) work days’ notice, in writing, from the involved governmental agency, including times and dates relevant to the absence. If an Employee is arrested for alleged criminal activity and is unable to report to work, they must inform their faculty supervisor, or cause their faculty supervisor to be informed, so that replacement coverage can be promptly arranged. In the event of arrest, the employee will be excused for up to two (2) work days, without compensation.
