Hours and Days. Section 1 - School Day The teachers’ work day shall be seven hours and 25 minutes, which includes a 30 minute lunch.
Hours and Days. The Extended Care Program is available before school starting at 7 AM and after school by reservation until 6 PM. The Extended Care Program operates only on regular school days and is not available on holidays, vacations, or in the summer months. MINIMUM DAYS The Extended Care Program is available on minimum days from 12:15pm to 6:00pm for children enrolled in the school. ENRICHMENT CURRICULUM When providing instruction remotely, students will participate in programs of study in music and art as an enrichment of the academic curriculum. In the Distance Learning Model and or Blended Learning Model, enrichment curriculum may be offered less frequently or at different times in the day. Instruction may also be offered through pre-recording sessions. The focus is to prioritize the essential, core curriculum while still trying to provide as much enrichment curriculum as feasible. INSTRUCTIONAL MINUTES When providing instruction remotely, minutes of instruction are similar to in person instruction and will include synchronous and asynchronous work. Synchronous learning is the kind of learning that happens in real time. This means that the teacher and students interact in a specific virtual place, through a specific online medium, at a specific time. Methods of synchronous online learning include video conferencing, teleconferencing, live chatting, and live-streaming lectures. Asynchronous learning happens on a student’s schedule. The teacher will provide materials for reading, and viewing, assignments/projects for completing,exams for evaluation and the student has the ability to access and satisfy these requirements within a flexible time frame. Methods of asynchronous online learning include self-guided lesson modules, streaming video content accessible at any time, virtual libraries, posted content information, and exchanges of ideas and responses across discussion boards or social media platforms.
