Hot Places. An employee who works for more than one hour in the shade in places where the temperature is raised by artificial means to: between 46 and 54 Celsius 43 cents per hour extra; in excess of 54 Celsius 58 cents per hour extra. Where work continues for more than two hours in temperatures exceeding 54 Celsius, employees shall be entitled to 20 minutes rest after every two hours work without deduction of pay. Hot Places. An employee working for more than one hour in the shade in a place where the temperature is between 46 and 54 degrees Celsius shall be paid in accordance with schedule E per hour extra, and in a place where the temperature exceeds 54 degrees Celsius in accordance with schedule A per hour extra. Where such work continues for more than one hour in a place where the temperature exceeds 54 degrees Celsius, the employee shall also be entitled to fifteen minutes rest after every one hours work without deduction of pay. The temperature shall be decided by the supervisor of the work after consultation with the employee who claims the extra payment.
Hot Places. 18.3.2.1 An employee working in places where the temperature exceeds 54 degrees Celsius for more than one hour shall also be entitled to fifteen minutes rest after every one hour’s work without deduction of pay.
Hot Places. Definition -“hot place” – If the average of temperatures over summer and winter is greater than 46°C. If a person is required to work under such conditions, existing site practices will apply. This includes provision of extra drinks, breaks and job rotations.
