HOLIDAYS/FLOATING HOLIDAYS. During the fiscal year the City will authorize one (1) "Floating Holiday" per employee, which may be taken by the employee at a time selected by the employee, subject to operational requirements and approval determined by the City. Employees hired between July 1, and December 31, will be eligible for a "Floating Holiday" during the course of the Fiscal Year.

HOLIDAYS/FLOATING HOLIDAYS. 12.1 HOLIDAYS (amended 10/01/12) A regular employee and probationary employees upon completion of the first six (6) months of their probationary period (who shall be treated as regular employees solely for the purposes of Sections 12.1, 12.2, 12.6 and 12.9 of this Article 12) shall be entitled to observe the following seven (7) holidays: New Year's Day (January 1) Memorial Day (Last Monday in May) Independence Day (Fourth of July) Labor Day (1st Monday in September) Thanksgiving Day (4th Thursday in November) Friday after Thanksgiving Christmas Day (December 25th) Authorized holidays falling on Sunday shall be observed on the following Monday and holiday practices shall apply in all respects the same as for holidays which fall on Monday; the Sunday shall be considered the same as any other Sunday. Should a holiday occur on an employee's non-work day, the employee shall observe such holiday on the employee's next scheduled work day. Any authorized holiday falling on Saturday shall be observed on the preceding day (Friday), and holiday practices shall apply in all respects the same as for holidays which fall on Friday; the Saturday shall be considered the same as any other Saturday. A regular employee who is regularly scheduled to work on a holiday, which falls on a Saturday or Sunday may elect, service requirements permitting, to reschedule their work week to Monday through Friday. The rescheduling will be the week preceding the holiday if the holiday falls on Saturday or the week succeeding if the holiday falls on Sunday. Such selections shall be in accordance with the seniority provisions of this Agreement.

  • Floating Holidays In addition to the authorized days in 9.2. each employee, including each academic employee, shall be authorized two (2) floating holidays of his/her choice per fiscal year.

  • Holidays The following days are observed as holidays by state agencies in accordance with section 110.117, F.S.: • New Year’s Day • Birthday of Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx, Xx., third Monday in January • Memorial Day • Independence Day • Labor Day • Veterans’ Day, November 11 • Thanksgiving Day • Friday after Thanksgiving • Christmas Day If any of these holidays falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be observed as a holiday. If any of these holidays falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be observed as a holiday. Customers may have additional holiday(s) observed specifically by the Customer which will be detailed in the Customer’s order.

  • Floating Holiday All employees except intermittent, emergency, and temporary employees shall also receive one (1) floating holiday each fiscal year of this Agreement. However, seasonal employees shall be eligible for only one (1) floating holiday per season and intermittent employees shall receive one (1) floating holiday each fiscal year of this Agreement if they complete ninety-one (91) working days in that fiscal year. Unless waived by the supervisor, the employee must request the floating holiday at least fourteen (14) calendar days in advance. The Appointing Authority may limit the number of employees that may be absent on any given day subject to the operational needs of the Appointing Authority. Any conflicts for requested holidays shall be resolved on the basis of State Seniority within the employee's work unit. The Appointing Authority shall make a reasonable effort to approve the requested holiday. Floating holidays may not be accumulated. An employee who has not requested the floating holiday by March 1 of each fiscal year or by thirty (30) calendar days prior to the end of an employee's season shall be scheduled to take a floating holiday on a day chosen by the Appointing Authority or be paid for the floating holiday in cash at the option of the Appointing Authority.

  • Annual Holidays (i) On completion of 12 months continuous service an employee shall be entitled to annual paid leave of 4 working weeks.

  • Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays If the last or appointed day for the taking of any action or the expiration of any right required or granted herein shall be a Saturday or a Sunday or shall be a legal holiday in the State of New York, then such action may be taken or such right may be exercised on the next succeeding day not a legal holiday.

  • Weekend Holidays 9.3.1. A full-time employee who works a Monday through Friday schedule and the calendar holiday falls on a Saturday, the employee shall be allowed the preceding day off. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the employee shall be allowed the following day off. If the employee works the day preceding or following such a holiday, he/she shall be given another workday off with pay or shall receive payment for that day at the regular rate.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.

  • Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, etc If the last or appointed day for the taking of any action or the expiration of any right required or granted herein shall not be a Business Day, then such action may be taken or such right may be exercised on the next succeeding Business Day.

  • GENERAL HOLIDAYS 13.01 The following days shall be recognized and considered as paid general holidays: New Year's Day Labour Day Xxxxx Xxxx Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day Xxxxx Xxx Day and any other day or portion of a day designated as a paid holiday by the Civic, Provincial or Federal Government.

  • STATUTORY HOLIDAYS 12.01 The following holidays shall be recognized as legal holidays: New Year’s Day Labour Day Good Friday Thanksgiving Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Dominion Day Boxing Day Civic Holiday
