Historical Antecedents. “Xxxx Xxxxxxx” Private School No. 1 of Xxxxxxxxx Xxxxxxxxx City´s students, corresponding to the seventh grade of basic education, do not have a good input process learning on English, a difficult situation that deteriorates their performance, so since curriculum reform was implemented the way of teaching has not been renewed, which increases the number of students worryingly that must transform English in a very important subject, that will be a good foundation in their school years and positively to assimilate the rest of their students life. Students at this level, especially in its early years, fail to develop skills required in the foreign language target, which makes not an easy path for the future student. If that student on its elementary school-age was not well prepared with good learning strategies, will become future problems in school performance; so, it is necessary to do a curricular re-engineering on the implementation of an Interactive English, enabling meaningful learning and a priority on the needs of learners. It is important to recognize that the applied activities of foreign language teachers (although often do their part to include teaching resources) that will make easier the task of teaching-learning, almost nothing has been achieved as technological advances brought about the modernism of the time yet. It is in the seventh grade of basic education where less emphasis has been applied, so the results are disappointing in school, where students fail the school year, have poor grades and even drop out; these are indicators of the lack of an assertive teaching level for children, their environment and responses to their age. It is not a complain about the effect that causes a teacher who do not renovate their working tools, but rather to raise awareness and prevent the other students who are part of this prestigious institution still do not master English language.
Historical Antecedents. In a global way, English is the “universal” language. Most of the students everywhere need to learn it to get a College or University degree. English is a language of extraordinary linguistic wealth that owes its origins to the diversity of influences that has assimilated. Along the History, English language has adopted words coming from other languages, fundamentally of the Anglo-Saxon, but also of Latin, Nordic old and French and even other languages like Greek, Spanish, etc.

Facing the fundamental necessity of having a Public High School for the efforts that parents and professors had carried out in "Los Sapos" (a former name for the city), the Board of Education considered very fair the request because when the boys and girls finished the Elementary School, they did not have an option of following their secondary studies. According to the data it is known that in May of 1974, the Guayas Board of Education, sent to this town to Xxxxxx Xxxxx, Supervisor of Education, so that it begins to register in the school "Xxxx Xxxxxxxx", along with the Director of the same one, Xxxxxxxxx Xxxxx Xxxxxx and the Xxxxxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxx, named secretary Ad- Honorem of the new facility, to the youths that wanted to continue the High School level. The enrollment during the month of May was able to inscribe the first 120 students in the First Grade and 25 students in the Second. For this reason ―El Triunfo‖ High School would work with régime of Coast, belonging to the area 43. In the same year, the Yaguachi City Hall, thanks to Xx. Xxxxx Xxxxxx Rodriguez´s benefactor action, who gave to the Ministry of Education and Culture in donation an area of 4900 square meters, corresponding to the block "P", the same that was official in a session of December 10, 1974.
Historical Antecedents. Cooperative learning approach improves the quality of teaching and learning by keeping students cooperates in smalls groups or pairs (Xxxxxxxxxx 2001). This made of learning promotes mutual helpfulness and active participation from all students in solving a problem (Xxxxxx and Xxxx 1994; Xxxxxxxxxx) creates a harmony with strategic learning, so students use their cognitive resources in order to master a particular language skill efficiently and effectively. Unfortunately, many years ago social and effective strategies were excluded and the teaching and learning process was based on cognitive mat cognitive strategies, most of the time focusing only grammar point and the English teachers did not have a limited time with a little students´ classroom participation. Another issue associated with cooperative strategies has to do with students with different styles can work cooperatively with each other (Oxford 2002, 2003). This conforms with what Oxford (1989) states: ―In studies where students were taught specifically to be cooperative, result revealed vast improvement in language skills as well as increased self-esteem motivation, altruism and positive attitude toward others. The cooperative strategies offer advantages over traditional pedagogy because it allows weak learners to learn from more able learners.
Historical Antecedents. According to information obtained during our teaching practice, we know students have low level of English skills when they arrive to the eighth grade on High School, due to multiple reasons:

Long time ago, this means back in 1986, when I worked as an English Teacher, I saw and I could feel the flaw and disinterest of the students to learn a new language as is English, due to the precarious conditions in teaching materials (Relating to technology almost nonexistent at the time) and the human being conditions played an important role at the time of teaching and learning this foreign language, but as the world has developed this allowed us placed in the hands of educators and students sophisticated tools to provide quality education for all fields. Unfortunately, Public School students receive 2 to 3 hours per week of English, this includes laboratory. Students to practice listening and comprehension, besides the pronunciation, but the rest of the hours, they speak and write in Spanish this does not help at all in learning skills. In Private School the opposite occurs, they have more English hours class and parents have the economic possibilities of sending them to a good English Academy where they will be more productive and will learn quickly and improve the language.
