Common use of Hiring Rates Clause in Contracts

Hiring Rates. (a) New Employees New employees hired in Wage Groups 3, 4 or 5 shall ordinarily receive the starting rate for their wage group. From there, they shall advance to the intermediate rates, and then to the maximum rate for the job as specified in Section 10 below. Those hired in Wage Group 8 or higher shall be paid the rate in effect for their particu- lar group at the time they are hired. New employees hired on and after April 19, 1996, are subject to the wage progression set out in Schedules “A-1”, “A-3” and “A-5” of this agreement.
