Hiring Rate. The hiring rate for a class shall be at the lowest pay rate in the range except as otherwise determined at the sole discretion of the Director of Public Safety. The hiring rate may be at a step higher than Step 0 within the assigned Pay Ranges as provided in this Article. Employees hired at a step above Step 0 will, for the sole purpose of advancement through the pay schedule pursuant to Section 14.1 (B), inherit the years of continuous service assigned to the step in which the employee is hired. (For example, if an employee is hired at Step 4, the employee will inherit four (4) years of continuous service. Thereafter, the employee will advance to the next Step of the pay schedule after each additional year of continuous service on the anniversary of the employee’s date of hire.)
Hiring Rate. New employees will be hired at the minimum rate for their job except that a new employee who has had experience directly applicable to his job may be paid either the six (6) months rate or the one (1) year rate. Higher starting rates may be paid in exceptional cases by agreement with the Union.
Hiring Rate. (a) All persons covered by this Agreement shall be hired at the minimum salaries for their respective ranks, except as hereinafter provided.
Hiring Rate. Probationary employees will receive 85% of the base rate stipulated in Appendix "A" of this agreement.

Wherein a multiple pay range is established for a classification, the Appointing Authority will designate the range and rate within the range at which the employee shall be paid.
Hiring Rate. It is the Employer’s intent to generally hire new employees at step 1 of the step-based raise scale as provided in “Appendix A” unless Community Solutions finds it difficult to secure qualified applicants or wishes to employ a person of unusual qualifications. The Employer shall provide notice to the Union of their intent to hire a new employee above step 1and give the reasons for such action.
Hiring Rate. New hires may be started at any step within the established pay range as determined appropriate by the Executive Director due to qualifications, ability, special skills and/or experience. Such appointment shall be subject to the standard probationary period.
Hiring Rate. Nurses with prior recent relevant non-County nursing experience will be permitted to start at a salary commensurate with their non-County years of service. However, such nurses shall not be eligible for longevity pay until they have worked a sufficient number of years with the County to qualify for the longevity pay. In addition, such nurses will not receive seniority credit for prior non-County nursing service. For purposes of application of this Article the term “recent” shall be limited solely to relevant nursing experience accrued within ten (10) years from the date of entry into the bargaining unit.
