HIPAA Enabled Account Usage Sample Clauses
The HIPAA Enabled Account Usage clause defines the terms under which an account may be used to store, process, or transmit protected health information (PHI) in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). This clause typically specifies that only accounts designated as HIPAA-enabled are permitted for such use, and may outline requirements such as additional security measures, user responsibilities, or restrictions on data sharing. Its core function is to ensure that PHI is handled in a manner that meets legal and regulatory standards, thereby protecting sensitive health information and reducing the risk of non-compliance.
